Floyd deserved the honor, stop bitching. That being said he should get little to no credit for beating Oscar a second time.

Can we agree on something here possibly.. to everyone. I think that everyone here is a boxing enthusiast to some degree... And I think we can all acknowledge boxing is not a mainstream sport anymore..

Me being an enthusiast, I like to see the sport I love get as much attention as possible... You rarely see something on boxing on yahoo.com, or NBC news... like you used too... I think that although this fight doesn't necessarily mean anything as far whose the best in which division... and it doesnt quite bring us the fights we would rather see...

But it does get our sport out there more to the public... the bigger these events and the more often, it keeps us on the sports pages and the nightly news and the main search engines... So I support the fight in a different light, other than defining who is the best in the sport.

Not to say that I dont want to see Mayweather-Cotto. But I dont piss all over this fight like some. There is fun hype involved. It does get people talking. The winner ISNT guaranteed, contrary to some peoples opinion. I do hope however that when these two get together to bring all this attention to our sport, that they do something with it.


And to be honest... more people are non boxing enthusiasts, more passive observers of the sport... and those people dont necessarily care about titles, as much as theyd rather see a good fight. The first one wasn't a barn burner, but it wasnt bad either. Im hoping for better drama this time around.
