Mayweather's average competition when he defended his 130 title was 35-2-1, and I don't find it particular great other than Corrales and two good fighters in Genaro Hernandez and Jesus Chavez.
Alright boss... so how long do I have to watch to be deemed worthy by you to talk boxing?
Look Smokin', I already said that his resume is bad, and I have also said that it really isn't his fault. This is not a criticism of what he did, but it is a criticism of those who say he is the best MW of all-time, because when compared to other eras, Hopkins's middleweights on his resume just aren't that good.
Same reason Tyson is not the best heavyweight of all time (at least part of it).Comment

Yeah but Tyson lost...and lost...and lost some more (getting knocked out a couple times or quitting). Hopkins defended his belts for a decade, beating everyone in his path. I see your point though.Mayweather's average competition when he defended his 130 title was 35-2-1, and I don't find it particular great other than Corrales and two good fighters in Genaro Hernandez and Jesus Chavez.

The main problem I have with Hopkins is that he really did lose to the best two fighters he fought... the argument can be made that Taylor only became one of the best because he beat Hopkins. But he did lose to Jones Jr. and Taylor. You know?Comment
