it ain't call a a tune up it's called CHICKEN ****.
fighting a washed up, UNRANKED fighter two weight classes smaller than yours is hardly a tune up. hell, that ain't even a serious sparring match.
forbes could barely handle bojado, who was ranked NUMBER 50 in his own weight class, so GTFOH with that lame ass bull****.Comment

Personally, I believe Oscar deserves a tune-up fight. He has constantly fought the best opposition out there so I think he finally deserves a tune-up.Comment

funny how you should even mention Castillejo and Sturm whom honestly aren't noteworthy, when we talk Middleweights you do not hear their names being spoken of yet you name both and also John John Molina whom some might say ****ed him up, Sturm isn't "some might say" because Oscar actually lost the fight it's just something OTHER than his hands saved him from the loss, maybe his name or his account balance but certainly not his in-ring ability, you certainly name people who really didn't turn out that great as competitors, people who only really have names like Jorge Paez and Oba Carr, the way you use those named fighters in your post is the equivalent of me naming Roberto Duran as a notable opponent for William Joppy because Chavez was relatively the same difference, even Whitaker who whipped his ass BTW, Quartey even whipped his ass, you say such things as if JUST fighting the best is enough, what about beating them? clean cut, prime and career high opponents. who? Rafael Ruelas? Genaro Hernandez? Miguel Angel Gonzalez.. impressive.. but not to hold him at such high of a pedestal as you are doing..Jesus man, thats just ridiculous! No one can ever argue that De La Hoya is a coward without sounding like a complete douche! He fought every big name in every division he was ever in. The one thing you can't say about him is that he is a coward.
So starting with Jorge Paez, John John Molina, Rafael Ruelas, Genaro Hernandez, Jesse James Leija, Julio Cesar Chavez, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Pernell Whitaker, Hector Camacho, Ike Quartey, Oba Carr, Felix Trinidad, Shane Mosley, Arturo Gatti, Javier Castillejo, Felix Sturm, Fernando Vargas, Luis Campas, Bernard Hopkins, Ricardo Mayorga and ending with Floyd Mayweather you are going to seriously argue that this is not only not a good resume but not the best resume of anyone in boxing at the moment. You actually can't! To argue is to look at the facts and dismiss them as BS. No different than looking at the sky and arguing that it's purple, not blue.
This is simple. Bring up someone else who has a better one...but you have to actually name the fighters they fought.
Don't even bother actually, because you can't.
getting to the point I'm just saying don't just name who he FOUGHT name who he BEAT, as far as I see it he HASN'T beaten the best of his opposition, yes he fought the best but so has Shane Mosley, however I can't recall no fights where Shane Mosley got a gift decision due to his popularity and not his punch count.. not to be a cynical ******* but seriously De La Hoya is not as great as you paint him in this post, he reached a level of fame through Boxing that is irreversible which is why till this very day even while losing to the best of his resume or at least the fighters whom had a **** and some piss to offer him he is still some sort of an "Elite" when he is not, one thing is to just be you and due to your name you can jump the ranks and build this image of being some hot shot when in reality all the guys who you faced that had some gas in their engine kicked your ass and another thing is to actually BE a great, 10 time champion? aight.. but with WHO? certainly not enough to really dap him out, name all 10 of his title wins and I bet at least 5 or 6 I can SERIOUSLY question, dumb it down to something like how people dumb down Baldomir's win against Clottey..
this is the very same reason why Floyd gets ****ted on and it's due to him facing guys who lets be real here they never stood a chance, beating Gatti for a belt and beating Baldomir and even though they really weren't THAT great of opponents since he was SOOO highly gifted, much more than them he beats them and all you hear is 5 weight class champion, you see the credential but against who doesn't appeal much to you, the monument that earning the title lays on you surpasses the whole "against who?" aspect and suddenly **** is all gravy. like it ain't no thing and **** didn't happen, like there ain't no story, like Felix Sturm's 0 wasn't just thrown aside to preserve a showdown, which he LOST BTW, against an opponent who only further enhanced that whole "I fought everybody" image, nnot to mention Sweet Pea, Quartey and some might even say Molina, I have heard that before, add that to his losses and what do you have?..
Floyd to his credit at least hasn't lost and the ONLY questionable win on his career was avenged immediately but Oscar? come on man see the reality behind the fairy tale, you can name all his opponents but it doesn't matter when the better half of them kicked his ass and for like 2 or 3 of the ones he DID beat he stole it.. I like to look at **** in a real way and Oscar to me is no big deal, his fame and his name saves him because he can be the same fighter, the same EXACT fighter with the same exact skills and wins and losses but let him have a different name with an ugg mug and he wont even be named, he would just fade into the history of the game like so many BETTER fighters in history who just so happened weren't so cover boy type.. **** is sad, no disrespect to you though, might seem like I'm being a smart ass but I'm just debating..Comment
