So then why doesn't Oscar fight Cory Spinks? Cory Spinks has a style very similar to Floyd's, plus he has a jr. middle belt.
He wants a tune up to get ready for Floyd?

The tuneup is for no more reason than to help promotion. Its as simple as that. Oscar wants to fight a fighter he will look good against and hopefully knockout. It has nothing to do with trying to pit him against a style similar to Floyd, thats what sparring is for. We humans remember most the last thing we saw, Sugar Ray Leonard understood this concept as well as Oscar with their flurries at the end of rounds to try and steal them, so a knockout for Oscar looks appeasing to the eye. In order to try and get people to buy a second fight in which most, not me, deemed as boring, you have to lure them into thinking he has more of a chance this time.Comment

I agree with all the posters so far, yep a tune up is nothing more than undoing rust and trying to look impressive for what is deemed the "real fight" and Dwiens is right its too dangerousThe tuneup is for no more reason than to help promotion.
