that's true! The thing With De La Hoya, though....DLH got called the Golden Boy because it was said everything he was involved in made money.
Whitaker wanted his nickname to be Sweet Pete but some people in the audience for one of his fights misheard it as Sweet Pea.
SRR got his nickname from a guy that saw him in the amateurs when someone saw him fight and said he fought sweet as sugar.
He got labed "The Golden Boy" long before he made Millions because he was "THE ONLY" member of the 1992 US Olympic Boxing Team that came home with a Gold Medal.
Yo, you remember...
James "Bone Crusher" Smith
How about Larry "The Easton Assassin" HolmesLast edited by guzi815; 01-22-2008, 07:16 PM.Comment

The most original I've ever seen was "He Hate Me"!, made famous by XFL star Rod Smart. Not much of a cool story (after I win, he gon' hate me), a lot of players actually did hate him, lol. People put "I hate He" on their jerseys.Comment

"The Atomic Bull" strikes me as nice "Touch of sleep" D.Williamson. Also I would love to hear the real stories behind Juan "The hispanic causing panic" Lazcano .Comment

When Marco Antonio Barrera was 2 years old he used to sneak out of the house at night. He would travel up to the local bell tower and sit a top it shooting at people with his sniper rifle. Thats why they call him the "Baby Faced Assasin".Comment

Yeah, I know. I was just trying to be a smart ass. Loved both of those fights. Someone else mentioned it was Katz. I have no idea who came up with the name, but the reason is obvious.Originally posted by NachoMan:I'm pretty sure that Rid**** Bowe gave Andrew Golota his unofficial nickname "The Foul Pole", but I don't recall exactly why?
