Tarver let Hop do what he wanted, Wright is a light middle...... Calzaghe has that workrate and wont let up, the old boy just wont be able to keep up, i see him just doing his best to neutralize Cal and trying to survive while not taking too many shots, he's 43 FOR **** SAKE!Comment

Calzaghe is getting old himself, after the Hopkins fight who else is he gonna fight? He's probably just waiting to see if Roy can put on a show vs Tito..
If Roy wins I think they will fight at some point..Comment

This is not a valid excuse.Tarver let Hop do what he wanted, Wright is a light middle...... Calzaghe has that workrate and wont let up, the old boy just wont be able to keep up, i see him just doing his best to neutralize Cal and trying to survive while not taking too many shots, he's 43 FOR **** SAKE!
Hopkins moved up two weight classes and dominated The Ring champion.
That is why Hopkins is highly regarded still.Comment

JC, your right that you shouldnt fight RJJ. THese guys just want to fight you because if they beat you it would instantly revive their reputations for beating the man considered the top boy.
RJJ in particular thinks by beating JC, it will eradicate his 3 losses, to Tarver, and Glencoffe from peoples memories.
So i would steer clear of RJJ. It would have been a good fight when RJJ was at his best, but that is nomore, so i wouldnt even be interested in watching it if it did happen.Comment

Tell Hopkins to start fighting other top dogs at 175. I don't consider Hopkins the best at 175.
When Hopkins decided to move up and face Tarver it was after Tarver went through some tough fights with Johnson. Tarver also pulled a "Roy" by thinking he could add a stack of muscle to get up to HW (in his case for a movie) and then take off the muscle weight, at his age, in a short period of time {for muscle loss}. Tarver found out what happened to Roy: your body/system goes down the toilet. It's to much stress on the system/body.
Hopkins could have moved up and faced Jones Jr. for a rematch in his prime, but the never did.
Hopkins still lost to Taylor twice, who had a draw with Winky and struggled with Spinks, and was last seen knocked out by Pavlik. Hopkins isn't in his prime either...hasn't been for a long time.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 01-19-2008, 08:11 AM.Comment

Jones does not bring anything to the table, atleast with Hopkins, its a chance to be a 2 weight world champ...he wouldnt get that fighting Jones, unless Jones goes and gets himself a belt at middleweight, or cruiserweight,or heavyweight....I like what im hearing from Enzo...hopefully it'l mean Joe will face one of Pavlick or Taylor at the end of the year as his last fight.Comment
