My point has always been that 6-7 years ago Jones was the darling of HBO and both him and Hopkins were dripping in belts, Calzaghe should have gone to them, even based himself in the states for a couple of fights to get exposure a'la Hatton instead of fighting some of the complete nobodys he did around that time. I mean no disrespect to those opponents!

I don't disagree entirely, I can see both sides. I mean, putting "they have to come to da states" aside for a minute, Calzaghe was the champion in his division. The guy's ego wouldn't permit him to travel to the States for anything less than a marquee name.

It just amuses me in threads like these to see the reactions of posters. I mean, if Calzaghe was born in Brooklyn, I imagine things would be much different.

I don't dispute that Hopkins is at the end of the road. The point is, the US media don't agree.

paulie, you can't win this arguement. Hopkins is regarded by The Ring as a better P4P fighter than Calzaghe, Jones isn't on anyones list anymore.
