    2007's Most Meaningful Fight

Hopkins vs. Wright - Two P4P elites for the LHW Ring championship.

Calderon vs. Cazares - Undefeated minimumweight champion moving up in weight to fight the LFW Ring champion.

Pavlik vs. Taylor - The Ring championship changed hands in a battle of undefeateds.

Cotto vs. Mosley - Defense of a welterweight belt in which a prospect completed his journey to becoming an elite superstar.

Calzaghe vs. Kessler - Two undefeated fighters with 3 ABC belts up for grabs. The Ring champion vs. The Ring #1 in a fight that would CLEARLY set the winner miles ahead of EVERYONE in the division.

Mayweather vs. Hatton - Two P4P elites. The JWW Ring champion fights the WW Ring champion. A battle of undefeateds.

Anyone want to suggest any others before I make the poll? If we get enough, I can take Mayweather vs. De La Hoya... I just started with HBO's best of 2007.

Mayweather vs. De La Hoya. Not even close. Made the number of recognizable mainstream fighters go from ONE to TWO.

Most meaningful in what way? How popular the fight was or how it affected the fighters and their future careers?

Cal-Kess or Taylor - Pavlik, Mayweather - DLH was a big fight not really all that meaningful.

Calzaghe Kessler was the must meaningful matchup. Taylor Pavlik probably had the biggest impact on the future of the sport.
