Well, what can you expect? You can't see the forest for the trees. It is pretty simple really. It would be a bad match up of styles and in this case Mayweather would lose. No matter his defense or whatever else you think he would win with Leonard has shown that he can beat anything Mayweather could throw at him. He beat Benitez who is as defensively brilliant as Mayweather. He beat Hearns who had the boxing skills, reach, power and speed to well and truly beat anything Mayweather could do. He beat Duran who has better infighting skills than Mayweather could ever dream of. He beat Hagler...Mayweather Snr...etc...etc...

You're judging him based on fights with guys who're generally brawling types and who aren't even very good at that. How is Mayweather going to respond to someone who is sticking a lighting fast jab in his face and doesn't even have time to counter, which you have to take into account as he is NOT a boxer, he is a counter puncher (which is why he is accurate to answer a section of your post. Every counter puncher in history is accurate. It's their game!) let alone take over the fight and win.

If Leonard had started at 130 or so it might be competitive but you're talking about one of the greatest welterweights of all time who showed time and time again that he could beat the very, very best (It also happens that those best he beat were also all as good or better than Mayweather). I'm sorry about your delusional mind but it just wouldn't happen. Mayweather would not be able to win this specific match up. It has nothing to do with hater rubbish. Most people can simply see this fight for what it is....except you and the guy who started it, hence the

I appreciate the long post but I'll just comment on what I remember.

You did say Ray would make Floyd become more aggressive, and I agree, because he would have to be. When Floyd tries to counter, because we both know he wouldn't lead especially against Sugar Ray, SRL would be gone. Floyd knowing this would have to open up and that's where he gets picked off. SRL over PBF in a shoot-out, all day.

And on the Paul Williams comment, yes Floyd does go to the body, but HOW IN THE HELL would he get in there? Paul Williams is way too long, way to active, and a stylistic NIGHTMARE for Floyd Mayweather.

      I'm a fan of Floyd. But I'm a realist.
Floyd Mayweather WILL NEVER fight Paul Williams.....yeah he doesn't really need to as I believe his career is basically cemented. But if he ever does, I'll place every last dime I have on Paul Williams.....and that's alot of friggin' dimes.

I say its a SD for Mayweather Jr cuz he has the superior athletecism and he is the smarter boxer. Hand speed, defense, footwork all go to mayweather. The only thing sugar would have on floyd is punch power. so, what do you guys think?
I think you're an idiot who has no idea what he's talking about is what I think.

Handspeed at WW goes to Leonard by FAR. Floyd is a pot-shotter who isn't half as quick as he was at 130. Leonard was known for having arguably the fastest combinations in boxing history. For you to say Mayweather has faster hands at WW shows your extreme lack of knowledge.

Mayweather has better defense, because he's more defensive. Footwork? I;d give the edge to Leonard when he uses it, though he wouldn't need to against Floyd. And yes, Leonard has the big edge in power.

Other edges for Leonard include size and strength, and the fact that this is his best weight and not Floyd's. Floyd's defense isn't gonna give him a win against someone who outclasses him in every other area, especially someone like Leonard, who has beaten no less than 4 fighters that Floyd would've lost to.

A green Sugar Ray handled Floyd's fathers shoulder roll defense quite easily and also beat another defensive genius, Wilfred Benitez.

I can't see Floyd winning this.
