I'm actually surprised someone could be this ignorant...
How does Floyd have better footwork? That is the most ignorant statement made by anyone this year. Mayweathers footwork is incomparable to Leonards! His handspeed is close but still not as fast nor does he have as good combination punching. Leonard is also more powerful, has a better jab and also has the greater ring generalship.
this is for the highlighted ignoramous statements you have in your post. just watch...
i forgot to note, mayweather, and after watching this video clip again when he fought cooper, floyd fights at angles better than ray does too, but again, he fights at different speeds from complex angles very well which he did here against cooper in that clip and he did it great against coralles and gatti when he landed that combo in the 6th round to the body and upstairs and in the 2nd round where he landed a counter left hook against gatti but at a slower pace but still accurate and his body positioning was perfect. now, gatti was never and will never be on the same level as ray but nonetheless i was making an observation. floyd gave better angles but with a better defense and much more complex style, and punched very sharp from these angles also, he didn't waste any punches, and leonard would waste many punches fighting floyd throwing his combos and flurries the way he did, because although they were fast and powerful and dynamic, floyd's defense would negate the **** out of many of them. now, floyd's jab at 130 was as good as a jab gets and his faints with his jab and left hooks and right leads and counters with his right and left hand were superb at 130 also, so it depends on what weight class they fought at.
I very much doubt Floyd would fight Leonard the way he fought Corley. He seriously fought like Arturo Gatti in that fight. All offense, no defense.
I do agree that Leonard would vastly oversize him.
It might just be that Leonard was too big for Floyd to beat him.
Floyd vs. Duran would be an interesting matchup at 135.
I might change my mind after seeing Floyd fight some better WWs. Ray definitely wouldn't be afraid of Floyd's power and would go after him, imo. Floyd vs Duran at 135 would probably be a closer matchup, but I think I'd have to get the edge to Duran on that one as well. Floyd would be competitive in both fights though.
what do you mean uh duh? did it take you hours to respeond to me like you did? now, how about posting a decent response to me because this one is lacking in the decent department.
Leonard was totally complete, he would open Mayweather up and draw him out of the pot-shotting mode.
Floyd, with the exception of Hatton and maybe Judah, has won each of his Welterweight fights by simply pot-shotting. He's not going to beat Sugar Ray by that alone. And when he gets drawn into a shoot-out Leonard wins.
I'm not even sure Floyd could beat Paul Williams.....simply styles.
Sugar Ray KO'd Tommy Hearns. That tells me alot. (and yes, I know it was past the 12th)
