Now most of you Calzaghe stans criticise Hopkins's win over Winky ( a blown up jr.middle) and Tarver (not at his best because of weight draining) and most of you also claim that Joe is better then Winky and Tarver anyway.

Then it should be no problem for Joe to move up and beat old Hopkins right?

If it doesn't happen, Joe's career will not be too impressive on a All-time great scale. Just a decent european fighter who lost to the first great fighter he faced in his career.
Are you trying to claim that Calzaghe is not better than Tarver?

Now, let me show how silly your next giant leap of logic is:

Let's say prime Ali beats two bums. If I am better than those two bums, then that means I can beat Ali?

Does Calzaghe have to be better than Winky to be more effective at a weight 15 pounds heavier than Winky had ever fought before?

Yes he has to. What kind of tools does Joe bring to the table that people think will beat Hopkins? Workrate........it's not enough with his already *****-fighting-out-of-spider webs style. Hopkins will counter him if he doesn't get it together defenisvly and we all know he doesn't have the defense of a Winky Wright. I feel like I have exhausted this convo. I am just simply rewriting what I have already said on previous threads. Let's just wait untilt he fight so I can take your points.

Yes but at what point in his career did Floyd fight Augustus. Was he a 5-division champ and p4p # 1 at that time?

Calzaghe came off of a career win against Lacy, has 20 title defenses under his belt and he picks A contender star from ESPN. Something's wrong with that picture.

Like I said, you Calzaghe stans are blinded by his unbeaten record. Once that 0 goes, it will all be clear. His resume is not of an all-time great, do not get that even twisted.
              Didn't answer my question ?
How many American fighters have a title they won 10 years ago ?
How many boxers have bums as you like to call them on there resume ? most champs have lesser fighters on there record, your just picking on Joe cause you don't like him.
Its the same when people moan about Joe not going out of Wales to fight, why the **** should he, he champ ffs, Mayweather hasn't left America and he gets his **** ****** all the time by fans.

I think the answer is pretty obvious. So currently he is the only one to hold a trinket for 10 years...........ok big deal. Some new fighter might be starting a 10 year reign this year and will hold a title until year 2018.

Let's not lose our heads now. We get is, he is undefeated. Not a immpressive record for a 44-0 guy. I've seen fighters with 30-0 who have beaten more great fighters then he has in their respective divisions.

Stop slagging Calzaghe's resume which is actually good. Just because he hasn't fought across the pond doesn't mean he hasn't faced good comp. That being said I think there is still more to do and more opponents for Joe to face, and beat.

Mayweather didn't fight Augustus while he was the #1 prp fighter in the world. You can't even begin to compare the competitiion they've both beaten, Mayweather has cllearly beat the better opposition.
