Like it hurt Winky Wright's resume? Yeah man, losing to a top 5 p4p guy just has to make him a bum, especially if the judges rob him (only way he could lose to Popkins), right?

He's definitely one of the best fighters in the world right now, probably 2 or 3, but his win over Kessler was his first dominant win over a very good opponent. He can totally cement his legacy by taking over Light Heavyweight.

I'm American but its ****ing annoying when my fellow countrymen discredit a resume because there are no fights on American soil. Its the same kind of mentality US Basketball fans had prior to 2004 Olympics and even USA Baseball. NOW, the most prominent benefit of fighting on American soil is for financial gain.

It is pretty funny how americans like Mayweather can spend their whole career fighting here and no one bats an eye. If someone else does the same, they're automatically labeled bums that fight nobody.

And Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Lacy, Kessler and now Hopkins, not really that shabby of a resume.

Hopkins is on his way out no matter what his p4p rating is. He is an inactive fighter holding on to that ranking based on wins over 2 other p4p fighters at that time.

Now most of you Calzaghe stans criticise Hopkins's win over Winky ( a blown up jr.middle) and Tarver (not at his best because of weight draining) and most of you also claim that Joe is better then Winky and Tarver anyway.

Then it should be no problem for Joe to move up and beat old Hopkins right?

If it doesn't happen, Joe's career will not be too impressive on a All-time great scale. Just a decent european fighter who lost to the first great fighter he faced in his career.

You should have put the "just a decent European fighter" at the top so that I didn't have to waste my time reading the rest of it.

Insults will not get you anywhere when truth is spoken. Let that be a lesson to you. You have Calzaghe winning this fight, fine....ride that train.

But do not tell me that losing to Hopkins isn't a blow on his already not impressive legacy. He himself has said that Hopkins is not what he used to be and only wants one last payday. That should tell you everything
                  .

numbers of title defenses can be deceiving when it 90% of your resume consists of C + fighters and guys nobody has ever heard of.

Like I said, you Calzaghe stans are blinded by his unbeaten record. Once that 0 goes, it will all be clear. His resume is not of an all-time great, do not get that even twisted.
