Floyds cares more about money than legacy. From a fan's point of view, this fight makes absolutely zero sense. Floyd right now is at the top of the boxing world, yet he wants to fight an even OLDER and more INACTIVE Oscar than he faced the first time. What would another win against Oscar prove for Floyd? Yes it would make them both richer than what they already are, but what does that do for us fans? Floyd sits atop a division (WW) where there are plenty of fighters who pose an imminent threat to Floyd. This is a division where 90% of the boxing world would like to see Floyd try and dominate. Instead he'd rather fight Oscar. So my question is....At a time like this, where the WW division is packed with talent, would it hurt Floyd's legacy for him to face an aging promoter/part-time fighter, instead of trying to prove that he is the best at the division he currently holds the titles to?Comment

It's hard to say whether De La Hoya could have beat Mayweather in his prime. De La Hoya only fights really in one style, come forward with the jab, set up left hook. I think Mayweather De La Hoya in the 90's would have looked like De La Hoya - Mosley, just with de La Hoya landing less.
With that said, de La Hoya won't win this one. I have a feeling that they saved Mayweather Sr. for this one, just to create a storylineComment
