He did a great job recovering from those Brewster/Sanders losses but another loss when he should be at his best might be too much.

From what I've seen, Wladimir is A level, Sultan is B. Wlad should walk through him. It's like if Mayweather had lost to Hatton, Gatti or Baldomir.
I actually deleted that post because I read some of your other posts in this thread and you have some good points and opinions. Sultan is a better heavyweight than you give him credit for though, he looked bad in the Austin fight because he was a career high 232 lbs, he fights at 220 lbs now and his handspeed and stamina have improved. With all that being said, Wladimir is superior and he should walk through him and win by KO.

(well they obviously had no chance to begin with, except the punchers chance). They looked intimidated and only looked for that right hand.

Maybe Wladimir has been working on his Liston/Foreman staredown.

      Austin didn't seem too disappointed.
I watched Wlad staring Brewster down before the fight. It was intimdating.

When Sultan went down there it was a good shot followed by a push. He wasn't knocked off his feet like Austin was. If Sultan was in shape he would have KO'd Austin easily. That was his own fault though...

          Okay, cool.

I predict Wladimir will take Sultan out within 4 unless he takes it easy on him. I think Wlad will try to send a message and demolish Sultan, he didn't fight at his best against Austin and Brewster and still pretty much destroyed them both.

Ibragimov is a bit above their class but he will be beaten badly unless he shows improvement. I wasn't impressed by Sultan's decision wins over Briggs and Holyfield.

I could see Wladimir taking it easy on Sultan too because people have complained about his fights not being competitive enough.

It all depends on how good Ibragimov actually is. This is his biggest test, do or die. If he gives a good performance he could have a bright future but if he gets destroyed his career is over.

You gotta admire Sultan's balls for taking this fight when there is a very good chance he will get brutally KO'd. Sultan said there should only be one HW champion and he dosen't consider himself a real champion right now, he tried to unify with Chagaev, that failed, and now he has made a unification fight with Wlad. We need more fighters like him in the sport that are willing to put there belt on the line and unify even though the odds are stacked against him.

I was disappointed when Chagaev pulled out of the fight, the winner would've been an established challenger for Wlad. Now Sultan is coming off that lousy Holyfield decision win and Wladimir won't get much credit.
But Wlad will be the unified champion and have another solid name on his record so it's not that bad.

Sultan should get respect for taking the fight but if he does nothing IN the fight I'll lose that respect. He should atleast go down swinging. Sultan and his trainer Jeff Mayweather have both said that they will try to make it a brawl. Should make for an exciting but brief scrap.

Austin was bum, but a pro boxer bum...and a big guy at it.

Did the win do anything to help Wlads record? No.

But was it impressive? Sure, I think regardless of weight class if you knock out someone like that its impressive.
