who won Dela Hoya v Whitaker

who won Dela Hoya v Whitaker ? such a difficult fight to score such close rounds to score i think that the biggest problem in this fight lies with the 10-8 round Dela Hoya got in the in the 3 nd round, it was an accidental clash of heads but it was ruled that a point should be taken from the uncut fighter regardless which is bull**** obviously ,however its down to discretion IMO wether u score that 10-8 0r 10-9 for Dela Hoya i think u have to score the fight on who u think won though so i dont think people should credit Oscar with a 10-8 cause of some bull**** rule

the other contentious issue was te 9th round where IMO Dela Hoya was winning the round but got caught of balance & his glove touch the canvas & it was ruled a knockdown , but can i still score the round for Dela Hoya because it was a round he was down in albeit it was a dubious knockdown but i thought he was winning the round prior to the Knockdown ,i think its only fair to score the round even given that i gave Whitaker the benefit of the doubt in the 4th round

    Whitaker Dela Hoya
    10-9 9-10
    9-10 10-9
    9-10 10-9
    9-10 10-9 [ diregarding the accidnetal foul ]
    10-9 9-10
    10 -10 10-10 [could nt find a winner in this round ]
    10-9 9-10
    9 -10 10-9
10 -10 10-10 [credit Whitaker for the knockdown but IMO Dela Hoya
    10-9 9 -10 won the round ]
    10-9 9-10
    9-10 10 -9

whitaker 5 rounds ,Dela Hoya 5 rounds

this all hinges on how u scored the 9 th round if u had Whitaker winning the round then it was a 10 -8 for Pernell ,the 3rd round was very close aswell i just went for Oscar very hard to score though ,the 6 th round i gave a draw i could nt find a winner although some people may have had Whitaker taking that round i would nt argue regardless ,dont forget i didnt deduct a point from Whitaker on my scorecard for the accidental butt however it was scored on the judges scorecards

all in all i would say niether man deserve to win this fight although if u gave it one way or the other there is always gonna be disagreements

I had Oscar winning. His constant pressure won him the close rounds.

i thought Oscar faded towards the end a bit he was'nt as busyin the later rounds IMO he still won couple dont get me wrong but that is where Whitaker had his best spell towards the end of the fight

Whitaker. Just like the way Mayweather beat Oscar.

Oscar pressured both fighters....and lost both times. Well....to most people's eyes he did. As for the judges....you know they can be fools sometimes.

i disagree 100% the Whitaker v Dela Hoya rounds were very close at least u knew whcih rounds Oscar & Floyd won in thier fight in the Whitaker v Dela Hoya fight u were left thinking Hmmm every round & with Lampley nuthugging Oscar to death in the commentry it was very hard to keep a unbiased opinion of the fight ,Oscar 's flurrys at the end of the rounds women screaming from the crowd when he landed or punched the air at the end of the rounds although they were doing it in the PBF fight also

I thought Mayweather won in a very close fight. I thought Oscar beat Whitaker slightly more convincing. BTW im taking into account that I didnt think Oscar was knocked down.

The bold is why people give De la Hoya credit for **** he doesn't deserve. De la Hoya always did that flurry **** and always missed most of those punches but you have the crowd going wild and commentators riding his **** when all he is doing is missing those punches. Its not like those De la Hoya flurries partially land he misses with most of that and gets credit for it from the judges which is complete bull****. Whitaker won this fight to me.

Also to Darkstar the PBF vs De la Hoya fight was not close for real. Fighters are not supposed to get credit for INEFFECTIVE AGGRESSION but that **** seems like the norm these days and that is why scores in fights be all ****ed up. Being aggressive don't mean **** if the aggressor is not accomplishing anything.

Being aggressive is 1/4 of what boxing is scored on.

BTW. I gave Mayweather 6 rounds and one even.
