It would have been in the making because Floyd would be getting AT LEAST 15 million to fight Shane plus a cut of the ppv revenue. Can Cotto get Floyd that type of green?

Classic dumbass hater statement. An undefeated P4P Corrales was not a risk? A prime Castillo in his first fight at 135 wasn't a risk? Zab Judah who just knocked out Cory Spinks wasn't a risk? AN OSCAR DE LA HOYA WHO WAS 19 POUNDS HEAVIER ON FIGHT NIGHT WASN'T A RISK?!?!

Let's see Miguel Cotto move to 154 and dominate. Then let's see him go to 160 and become the Ring Champion, then let's see him go to 168 and beat Calzaghe. In order to even be compared to Floyd, that's what he would have to accomplish.

I agree mate but I think we will see Cotto against Mayweather at the end of this year. Mayweather is too greedy to turn it down and I think the fans will back him into a corner untill he fights Cotto. If Cotto loses his next fight though I don't think they will ever fight.

it amazes me "fans" concern themselves with how much money a fighter should get rather than WHO a fighter should be fighting.

Fan #1: Yo, Cotto vs Mayweather would be a dope fight to watch. It would be interesting to see how Cotto would try to get close to Mayweather and not get touched in the process knawmsayin?
