Pressure fighters seem to open up counter opportunities, and Floyd is one of the best at counterpunching.

Pressure is not the way to beat Floyd I don't think.

Somewhat, DLH and Castillo gave him trouble, but I think the best style to beat PBF would be a good tall jabber. Someone to keep PBF away and to make PBF follow HIM around.

Vernon Forrest actually is the name most often mentioned to beat Floyd, at least that I have heard (in the criteria of fighters in the same weight class, or close to it).

Yea, I'd pick him over any other fighter to beat PBF, Williams would be difficult too, if he actually starts using the jab more often.

Have alway said a prime, fit vernon forrest or Ike Quartey will definitely trouble Mayweather, Mayweather hates jabbes and he doesnt respond well to them.

How long are Quartey's arms? I may be wrong, but I thought they were pretty short.

It has to be a good, committed, long jab to beat Mayweather IMO.

I tend to agree with you. Floyd has shown that although pressure does make his night difficult, it is not the way to defeat him.

I believe, excluding factors such as deteriorating skills and old age, effective counter-punching and a stiff jab is the way to beat Floyd.

A fighter like Vernon Forrest might have success.

Another way to beat Floyd would be a constant long range assault, much like Paul Williams would provide.

Personally I wouldn't want to see Floyd fight Paul Williams though, because the size disparity would make the fight very awkward and not very interesting.

So maybe the best pressure in-fighter in boxing just tried and got KTFO'd.

Man, you want to talk about countering opportunities... Mayweather would have a career high of countering opportunities against a guy who throws a trillion punches like Williams.

                      Same.

I think Forrest's consistent boxing with the jab setting up the right hand would give Floyd huge problems. I think he'd time Williams herky jerky movements and make him look amateurish though....Floyd would.
