Mayweather is more mobile in his approach when he uses that stance than most philly shell guys, not named Hops.

And when have you seen Floyd use this sideway stances stance against a world class opponent? Surely not against G. Hernandez. Surely not against Judah. Surely not against Hatton. Surely not against DLH.

I can go on and on. He uses this stance when his opponent is outgunned. He fights more like his uncle than his Pops.

Oh, and yeah, you should just stop talking.

There is flaws in every style. The winksters style is susceptible to body shots and uppercuts.
Okay, you obviously do not know what you are talking about, so I will give you pass. In the future, please try to have a basic understanding of what you are talking about before you post.

      Alright, boss.

Mayweather's gonna lose to a southpaw because of his style.

What is it actually called, I mean, is there an actual term for it?

I hate the term "Turtle Defense", sounds like something Margarito would do.

I just usually call it the shell.

I really only heard the phrase thrown around after Fightnight.

Before that, I never really heard that James Toney used the "philly shell", and the same with hops.

B-hop doesn't really use the shell, he is more of a pure head movement fighter combined with a very conservative hands up fall back plan. Lots of rolling in and out.

It's always been a phrase but people have only been coining Toney's defense as the "philly shell" for the past few years.

He was always considered to have 'old school' skills and was a throwback. But I never quite heard that term to describe Toney until FightNight was around.

Did you think they made up terminology for a video game? Also, commentators don't really make a habit of describing fighters based on proper boxing terminology.

No they didn't but that silly phrase coincidentally got thrown around like that right after FightNight came out.
