That is because it is the best way to describe it. Boxing is not a concrete sport. Each fighter has their own take on the basic styles. The Basis of both Floyd Mayweather and James Toney's styles is the Philly shell.

If you want a pure Philly Shell fighter, look no further than Evander Holyfeild. He uses the Philly Shell in its purest form, and is actually much better defensively than he is given credit for.

Have you seen Floyd's fights against Chavez, sosa, vargas, Castillo (twice),corralles, baldomir, hatton, etc. They were all pressure fighters who brought immense pressure in a different way. They all kept coming and yet floyd showed the mental toughness to deal with it. What can cotto and Margarito do that floyd hasn't seen before? Floyd has fought every boxing style before while Cotto and Margarito haven't. Floyd is not a quitter and will find a way to adjust.
Floyd would have already beatin Margo and would have agreed to fight Cotto by now instead of saying three times, twice before Cotto fought Mosley and once after he beat him, that he wont fight him..

Floyds fans are just as convinced as his haters that Floyd is a lil worried about fighting a top welter right now. or else they wouldnt make threads like this about it. If we dont mention it, then they feel the need to. Floyd doesnt want to lose that 0. PERIOD.

Exactly dude. thats why i was questioning you when you broke down the weaknesses of the philly shell.

Maybe you should look into the different stance that Mayweather has from everyone. Sideways stance. Most 'philly shell' fighters have their lead foot pointed at a 45 degree angle. Not freakin' sideways (180 degree's) like brother Floyd.

        Like I said earlier.

The fighter is not dependent on the style.

I have extensively studied Floyds style, I am well aware of its strengths and its weakness'.

I'll take 'stick to the topic' for $100. Are you gonna answer the question or what? Stylisticly, what does cotto and margarito do that mayweather has never seen before? What can they do that will cause him to break like so many cotto and margarito fans (i.e. floyd haters) seem to believe?

left hook counters? That's a funny one.
