First of all, Marcus Davis was a nobody when it comes to boxing.
He had a bunch of fights against a bunch of stiffs in the New England era.
I know of tons of J-man around that area and in boxing period. I have never heard of Marcus Davis until his MMA stint.
He was a chump, and he is nowhere near the athlete Mayweather is.
Mayweather is on a different level than the majority of these MMA guys, when it comes to pure athleticism.
that doesnt even make sense.. boxing is one sport.. and true he is great at it..mma is a MIXTURE of different martial arts..and these people compete againt black belts of all kind plus wrestlers etc.Last edited by C'MONMANG'; 12-31-2007, 11:33 AM.Comment

When you really think about that, I find it HILARIOUS that he is a success in MMA when he was pretty much a bum with a winning record in boxing.LOL!!!!
I just boxrec'ed him, here is his page and record!!!!! its a good laugh

He got knocked out by a COMPLETE BUM, and was beating guys that were on 7 or 8 fight losing streaks!!!!
And now he's a success at MMA??? Am i the only one that just cannot believe this guy had the balls to call MMA so much harder the Boxing??? Maybe if he beat a guy with a record but DAMN!!!Comment

Davis isn't exactly a success in MMA either just a good fighter mostly fighting on the undercards. About the same level as he was in boxing, a bit above it, with a record of 13 wins and 3 losses.
He is riding a good winning streak now though so he might get some more exposure in the UFC because he is an entertaining fighter.
Maybe he will find some success.Comment

I know he is I am a fan of both to tell the truth. Put Davis agfainst Koscheck at 170. Now Kos is a pure athlete. As a matter of fact GSP would be a success in any sport he chose to follow, his athleticism is just that good. I think Floyd's world class athleticism will allow him to succeed in any sport his wishes to follow with the right amount of training.Davis isn't exactly a success in MMA either just a good fighter mostly fighting on the undercards. Problem is that if Boxing's #1 P4P fighter goes to MMA and looks bad or loses...that is fuel for them to say "well Boxing "#1" fighter couldn't cut it...I guess that means no Boxer could"Comment
