Did Mayweather ruin Hatton's HoF chances?

True, but he was a beast in the 160s and 170s, had a granite chin, he did beat Holy in a spectacular fashion, and he has some good competition in his resume. Also just the plain fact that he's 70-6 says something.Comment

Nah, because toney was HOF before all of that stuff anyways, you judge a fighter on talent, skills and results, all 3 of these means toney is HOF easy.
Ask yourself.
How is a fat 200 pound guy standing still in the middle of the ring so hard to hit?Comment

Yeah i see what you're saying he kept busy for a long time and gave the fans so much action that he's gonna be remembered for a long time.
I suppose if HoF criteria is based on boxing legacy he makes it, but if it's based on contribution to the sport then the drugs do him no favours.Comment

One KO, no matter how hilarious it may be, won't stop Ricky on his road to the hall. I think he may get in just for being one of the most popular british boxer of his time, with a few more wins it will be a lock.Comment

good post but yeah they will induct alot of guys id move up Trinidad, Mosley, Calzaghe to locks. Pacquiao would have it secured if he beats Marquez in his next fight
Just a quick note about the HoF (and this should probably be its own thread)...
LOCK:
Mayweather
Jones
Hopkins
Delahoya
Toney
Holyfield
Barrera
Morales
Lewis
Tyson
etc
PROBABLE:
Pacquiao
Calzaghe
Mosley
Trinidad
Wright
etc
MAYBE:
Hatton
Marquez x 2
Castillo
Corrales
Tszyu
etc
If you took the dozen or so "locks", and added in even half the probables and maybes, that is A LOT of guys. More than we have ever inducted from any previous era.
ARE WE BEING TOO GENEROUS... OR WILL THEY REALLY INDUCT THAT MANY GUYS?Comment

Is calzaghe a lock? Yeah he's a step ahed of Michalezski, Veit, etc...but I think HE needs a signature win.
Would calzaghe have been undefeated if he fought Toney, Hopkins, tarver and Johnson in their primes?Comment
