Mayweather is good at luring you in and countering your shots and if Williams were to ever fight him he'd do just that. He backs up into a corner, slips your shots and counters effectively.

I don't understand why you're comparing Williams with Corrales being taller fighters, ofcourse he does better against taller fighters, height is hardly an advantage without the proper skill and reach, so you're basically stating the obvious. Also Corrales did throw punches, he just didn't land them.

Not trying to attack you, I'm just a bit annoyed by this Williams hype. This guy hasn't fought anyone except for Margarito, he's not a very big name so ofcourse no one is going to fight him, he's hardly an established champion. He also doesn't seem very skilled the way he was just throwing at Margarito, a fighter like that is easy to adapt to by technically smarter fighters. All he has going for him is his belt and his freakish length for a WW, to me he's just a fighter ready to be exposed
Understood. I'm in no way trying to hype Paul Williams so I apologize if I'm coming off like that. I guess my logic was due to Williams having the "reach" it could be very advantageous to him, but you and a few other people have made great points with the accuracy of Williams, that and also that counter punching is Floyds bread and butter. I guess I'm still hung on that reach and activity working maybe more than it really could for Williams but maybe he does get exposed. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I also never said Corrales didn't throw any punches, I said that he threw very few punches and that is in comparison to Mayweathers output. I agree, he did miss a lot also.

See, we know Floyd will never fight Cotto. Floyd's own publicist just said so, over on boxing tawk. He will never fight him.

You have to realize, Some of us know how lil weaselweather operates. He will absolutely by any means necessary, DUCK ALL Fighters who can leave him out cold on his back or dominate him. Cotto Margarito and Williams can all do that.

If Oscar-Cotto happens (I doubt it...), than Floyd would be next...

Williams has perhaps become the most overated boxer in the sport...

He would lose 100/100 fights with Floyd..

Just a reminder. Margarito lost to Williams.

Here is how Cotto can bait Floyd into a fight if Floyd really doesn't plan on fighting him by next year.

                1. Keep disrespecting him in the media.

                2. If you're fighting a Margarito or a Clottey next and if you beat either one of them, keep calling for Mayweather in the post-fight interview.

                3. Besides Mayweather, go after the other title holders....particulary Cintron who is easier to beat. Having two major titles at 147 and still calling out floyd disrespecting him as a man and a fighter could get to fight you.

REMEMBER, at first Roy Jones did not wanna fight Tarver. Tarver was calling him out during the Ruiz-Jones Post-fight Conf. and he declined. Roy wanted to fight his own version of O$car in Mike Tyson and then retire but Tarver kept talking and he unified the titles at light-heavy..........Roy's pride finally got in the way and he took the fight. Perhaps he underestimated Tarver or maybe he just wanted to shut him up but he did take the fight.

Williams has already called Cotto out....that's the fight that needs to be made, not Margarito or anyone else.

Good answer. And Floyd is no Margarito. Not even close.

Couldn't agree more. And if the kid's undefeated, so much the better for a mega-fight.

Yeah. Cotto just needs some coaching. Maybe he's not confident enough to say it.

When asked about a fight with Floyd in interviews, all he would say is he would fight anyone they (meaning Arum) puts in front of him.

The only one on Cotto's team that I've heard calling out Floyd, is Bob Arum who claims Floyd is scared of Cotto.

Maybe Cotto will wake up from a nightmare, in cold sweat, angry that Mayweather called him a *****, and threw some cash in his face.

Then Cotto might snap one day and say something foolish like Ricky did after one of his fights.
