Williams is also a seasoned judoka who is known for throwing Lewis (a huge strong guy) into the canvas several times after he got frustrated at Lewis in a sparring match. Strenght doesn't mean a thing if you don't know any technique.
Fedor has fought against CroCop who is known for his kickboxing and actually outstriked CroCop on his feet. Not because he was the better pure striker but because CroCop was afraid of Fedor taking him down and concentrated on Fedor's takedowns and allowed himself to be outstriked.
This is the same thing that would happen to Wladimir Klitschko if he were to fight in MMA. He would be afraid to throw hands because of the fear of being taken down and would eventually end up on his back.
Now if someone like Wladimir Klitschko, a world class athlete were to train MMA for a year or more he could eventually become successful, maybe even a champion. But he would have to completely concentrate on MMA and forget his boxing career. This is why it would never happen.Comment

MRPAIN i'm glad you pointed out that this is MIXED MARTIAL ARTS, meaning you can use what ever tactic you want! You don't have to wrestle or tie up that much if you don't want too. the opponent has to MAKE YOU tie up. I've seen UFC guys fight guys that they know are better grapplers, so they tried to stand up as much as possible and succeed, happens all the time.
Fedor is the best MMA fighter all around, now imagine anybody outside of him? Most top heavyweights really punish the other guys, Lennox Lewis vs Tim Sylvia?
..Ken Shamrock in his prime vs David Tua? Shamrock would **** himself once he feels TUA'S power.

2 different sports bud. You cant compare the two.most MMA fighters 95+ percent, are just very strong guys who know judo or former high school wrestlers ala Matt Hughes, these guys would get destroyed by top boxers.
If you don't think Wlad Klitchko would brutalize Tim Slyvia or Fedor Emirlenko then your a fool! Most MMA matches end up looking like dry sex, with a guy either mounted on top trying to do a arm hold, or a guy having a guy in the missionary position trying to choke him.

But Fedor would destroy Wlad in any fight. Fedor looks like a librarian but is a natural born fighter.
In a ring with with boxing only Wlad would easily outpoint and maybe KO Fedor and Sylvia but in an MMA match he would be beat in a matter of minutes.Comment

By the way, I dont think all Boxers would win 80% of the time, I Just think Wlad has so many tools he would give any MMA fighter problems. His punches are so straight and quick, Look at bob Sapp vs Nogiera...Minotauro was acctually out striking Sapp on their feet, Wlad is 10X the boxer Nog is.Comment

omg dino man wtf r u talking about buddy im gunna be nice since its xmas lol a few judo or wrestling lessons wont do anything for you man i have been training in mma for 5 months taking time off becuase doctor said i need to chill had a concussion(no not training but playing football lol), but anyways it takes time to learn not just a few classes trust me i would knowComment

Shamrock wouldn't need to feel his power because he would just take Tua down. Shamrock fought a very good kickboxer with lots of KO power in Bas Rutten, took him down instantly and submitted him.
Now about Lewis vs Sylvia, I would agree Lewis could give Sylvia lots of trouble because Sylvia DOESN'T take his opponents down. He defends other fighters takedowns and outstrikes them standing up. But he could clinch Lewis against the cage and tie him up so he couldn't use his hands and hug him like John Ruiz who Lewis refused to fight. I don't like Sylvia at all myself.
But the difference between Lewis and Sylvia is that Sylvia can defend takedowns, Lewis cannot. That gives him the ability to strike with lesser strikers on his feet.Comment

what the **** you are worse than dino. Fedor would get murdered in a Boxing match with the current Evander Holyfield let alone Wladamir Klitchko. W Klitchko would get destroyed in MMA because as soon as he ends up on the floor he has little defense. His brother has Kickboxing training and an MMA background and used to be a kickboxer so he would fair better.Comment
