you are a fool that knows nothing about boxing, or maybe you are just blind.
It's the name man, it's the name,
I don't know haven't seen Vanes and only a little of Chavez but from the looks of it I think Chavez could get under him and and pop a jab over but if Vanes can keep that same presure as he had herethey will make a for great match up.
Can't pick anyone as I said haven't seen enough.

This fight wont ever happen. JC JR is on the brink of a fight with former world title contenders/champions while Vanes is fighting on thursday nights in ballrooms.

Vanes is good, i dont mean that to make him sound less, but Vanes is still fighting lesser guys and still seasoning. Chavez did that because he had no amateur back ground

you have some decent points there, but let me give you the REAL reason this fight wont happen...

and this coming from a few different sources at TOP RANK..

"Vanes would tear Junior apart now."

"They can milk Chavez Jr's name for a long time so no need to take dumb chances."

Vanes is a decorated amateur with probably close to 150 fights, combined with his pro fights which is what, like 17 or so, dont you think he should be fighting better people than Dan Wallace? I mean Vanes has never even fought a fighter with more than 15 wins, and Im supposed to be impressed by him? Chavez is getting his experience in the pros and already fighting better people than Vanes. If im a fool for stating that, what does that make you? A Vanes groupie? Get real now.

Well I am a Junior fan so i would be biased. But i do agree with you. Taking a fight with Vanes could be good if he wins, but a disaster if he loses.

you have some points there and VANES does have to step it up and will do so in 2008.

The reason i called you a fool is because you actually somehow believe that Jr. can KO Vanes in 5 or 6 as badly as Vanes just KOd this Wallace guy.

by sayin somethin like that you prove to me two things... 1 - you are a biggg groupie urself of Chavez Jr. and have bought into his hype like the crazy fool Top Rank expects you to be, and 2 - you really have no ****in idea of what kinda fighter Vanes is and what chin and power and speed he has. The guy beat Berto to make the olympic team man.. dont give me this BS that Junior of all people can KO him, thats just comedy.

anyhow, time will tell... 2008 is big for all of us.

Vanes KOing Wallace means nothing though, he had already been stopped twice before, even by former Contender star Walter Wright, so how is that supposed to add to his stock or make him seem dangerous. He hasnt even fought a 10 round fight, how would he beat Chavez really? Do you think he knocks him out or what? Chavez would get to his body for a few rounds and then watch him crumble. Im not sold on Chavez hype, i see him for what he is, a very big kid with power, has stamina, and at those weights 147 and 154 he will be a problem for anybody eventually. Please let Vanes face somewhat of a contender or name or even a ten round fight before comparing him to what Chavez is doing. And Berto? fighting another prospect who hasnt even done anything in the amateurs is supposed to validate Vanes?

Vanes looks very impressive with every fight, even if they are just bums. I would pick him over Chavez Jr, closely, but I would. By late stoppage or close UD/SD/MD

Now you're starting to get the picture. Its not about who could beat who, its about promoters squeezing every penny possible from the Chavez name.

Also, the opponent that Vanes KO'd in that vid wasn't even a very good amateur. Not taking anything away from Vanes, just letting you know.
