The only become overrated to idiots...
How come fighters become Overrated after Floyd beats them?

Here's a better question:Can someone explain why? If floyd beats Cotto I bet some of you guys would say "Cotto was just overhyped he almost got KTFO by Corley and Torres, beat a Judah who was coming off 2 losses and a 1 year suspension and almost got past a past his prime old mosley"
Well? Before the fights people pick against him, and after the fights the opponents are insulted.
How come floyd fans trash his opponents for months claiming that they are overrated, washed up, or have no chance, yet after Floyd beats them they are Frazier and Foreman?Comment

haha fair enough. You have to agree though that hypocrisies I pointed out are the prevailing realities of the floyd nuthuggers, whether that is because those posters have the biggest mouths or because there are more of them, are the general message out of the pro-floyd camp.Comment

Based on his competition, Floyd was very good at 130 and 135, good at 140, and decent at 147. The problem is, he is reguarded as the best fighter in the world, and instead of proving it, he picks big money fights like DLH and Hatton, instead of the best fighters out there like Cotto and Williams. Floyd is young enough and he is definitely talented enough to really make a dent in this sport, and earn the right to be mentioned in the same sentence with guys that he claims to be better than already.
I am a fan of Floyd's talent and ability, though not a fan of some of his tactics (the persistant elbow, the occasional track meet, etc) and definitely not a fan of his disrespecting greats like SRR and Ali. But it will not bother me one bit if he proves himself worthy.
Considering DLH's inactivity and obvious decline and Hatton's previous failure to prove himself at WW, these were definitely the highest reward/lowest risk fights out there for Floyd. It took a ton of hype and selling to convince people that these were risky fights for Floyd, but that's just not the case. I'm sure they've done a lot to raise Floyd's ranking of #48 of all time, which is a shame.
Floyd's a big boy, he can retire, fight MMA, do whatever he wants to do. He's already said that he doesn't fight to prove anything to his fans. Love him or hate him though, anyone that knows anything about boxing, knows that he is a talent, and as boxing fans we deserve to see him fight the best while still in his prime.Comment

it just comes with the territory. if cotto beats floyd he is p4p number 1, if he loses and isnt competitive he is a chump. i think if he lost a close decision people would still respect his accomplishments. Can someone explain why? If floyd beats Cotto I bet some of you guys would say "Cotto was just overhyped he almost got KTFO by Corley and Torres, beat a Judah who was coming off 2 losses and a 1 year suspension and almost got past a past his prime old mosley"
