How come fighters become Overrated after Floyd beats them?

Can someone explain why? If floyd beats Cotto I bet some of you guys would say "Cotto was just overhyped he almost got KTFO by Corley and Torres, beat a Judah who was coming off 2 losses and a 1 year suspension and almost got past a past his prime old mosley"

Well? Before the fights people pick against him, and after the fights the opponents are insulted.

Right now im reading how Hatton is an overrated, average fighter after he lost to Floyd, before the fight I NEVER saw this and only was reading good things about him.

It's called "Roy Jones syndrome" and it has passed over to Floyd's opponents.

mayweather himself called hatton a c level fighter. plus every real boxing fan knew hatton didnt belong at the welterweight.

Perhaps, except Floyd has never faced anyone the caliber of a prime James Toney or Bernard Hopkins.

Of course he is, he proved it in his only previous fight at WW, a dominating performance over Luis Collazo.
