How come fighters become Overrated after Floyd beats them?

If you ask me Floyd belittles and downplays his opponents skills before the fights during promotion......so to your average mind after he beats them, most easily people may remember what he said before the fight and in turn believe it when all is said and done. Can someone explain why? If floyd beats Cotto I bet some of you guys would say "Cotto was just overhyped he almost got KTFO by Corley and Torres, beat a Judah who was coming off 2 losses and a 1 year suspension and almost got past a past his prime old mosley"
Well? Before the fights people pick against him, and after the fights the opponents are insulted.

Well you dont care what others think yet people's opinions are taken here, thats what these forums are for.Again, for about the 3rd time, I'm asking YOU. Was Hatton, De La Hoya, Baldomir the biggest threats to him when he fought them. I want YOUR honest opinion. Not what others were saying or thinking or about to think.
If you were to just calm down and pace yourself and not come to this thread immediately just look for my reply to your posts, you would see that I have already answered that question.
I know your a good poster here dude I dont care what anyone else says to you but I can recognise someone constantly hating for no reason and someone being objective as they can...No Baldomir was'nt a threat in my opinion but he was the undisputed champion. I'll give you my honest opinion I thought DLH and Hatton were legit threats, out of prime or not DLH would have beaten most fighters out there, specially the one who fought FMJ, Lets be as objective as we can that version of DLH would have beaten anyone 147-154 not named Vernon Forrest.
I thought Hatton would give Floyd a tough fight, he would lose but in the opening rounds he would give him a good fight with his aggression and workrate, quick hands, quick feet, punching from all angles, etc.Last edited by Parody; 12-23-2007, 12:23 PM.Comment

No, in this instance, I just wanted YOUR honest opinion.
Likewise, like I've said before, your one of the few Floyd fans who's opinions I respect along with Boxing Pundit.
werd, thats all I wanted my homie. You really think DLH would have had problems with Vernon?I dont care what anyone else says to you but I can recognise someone constantly hating for no reason and someone being objective as they can...No Baldomir was'nt a threat in my opinion but he was the undisputed champion. I still dont understand why Forrest lost to Mayorga, I will never understand why. He is a really good boxer, I think these versions of DLH and Forrest, Forrest wins. I always thought Forrest had the style to beat DLH, the Vernon Forrest which was against Mosley in the first fight was awesome.Comment

People are ALREADY saying that about Cotto...Can someone explain why? If floyd beats Cotto I bet some of you guys would say "Cotto was just overhyped he almost got KTFO by Corley and Torres, beat a Judah who was coming off 2 losses and a 1 year suspension and almost got past a past his prime old mosley"

Exactly welter...why cant floyd get his due. I have seen you wind up people just to have fun while pissing them off but I even I know your true opinion.
Seriously man would you give Floyd credit for beating him? Do you think he needs to fight someone else after Cotto? I personally would love it if he continued to fight for another year or two, but he does'nt owe us anything if he beats Cotto, He has been in this sports for a decade and I have seen enough of what I wanted too...Comment
