Looking back at the fight, you can blame Steele for his decision, (and I felt Steele should of have given Taylor those two seconds) but in reality Taylor should of never went toe to toe with Chavez and that call would of never been made. I don't know what Taylor was thinking, he was seriously hurt, but he kept fighting back.
Broke as **** too
Is he a bum or something? I hope he at least has a job and some place to live in.

God that is so ****ing sad what has become of Meldrick Taylor... listening to the before and after sound clips of his speech is heartbreaking.
Yep. I can't watch that **** without getting a little angry. Taylor deserved to walk out the ring the champ that night. I know JCC ruined him in that fight, but the fact remains that Meldrick, at least on that night, was a champion, and got screwed.
man, what an excellent legendary nights epsiode.
You feel sorry for Taylor, but Steele definitely made the right decision.
Regardless of what time of the fight it had been, any referee would stop a fight if a boxer doesn't reply to the ref's questions.

I still think Richard Steele should have gave Taylor the benefit of the doubt. I know protecting the fighter and all, but c'mon man, two ****ING SECONDS?!?

Rules are in place for a reason. It might've been 2 seconds, but where do you draw the line? What if Chavez moves in, throws 1 more shot and decapitates him? Was it sucky? Yes. Was it the right move? Yes.
