    Witter's chasing Hatton pay-day

RICKY HATTON has been promised a big pay-day for fighting rival Junior Witter.

Hatton, 29, wants to rebuild his career after losing to Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas for the world welterweight title.

WBC light-welterweight holder Witter, 33, is a potential opponent in May.

And Witter will waive his right for the bigger slice of the purse as champion.

His promoter Mick Hennessy said: “It’s not about money for Junior.

"All he wants is the chance to prove he’s the world’s best light-welterweight.

“We’d be happy for Ricky to take the lion’s share of the purse. Junior will fight him anywhere.”

Witter needs a "Will fight for food" sign.

If Witter agreed to a 90/10 split in Hatton's favor it would still easily be his biggest payday. So him "willing" to take less than 50% is meaningless.

Witter needs to unify a couple titles or beat a NAME fighter before Hatton is going to give him that payday.

If Hatton doesn't fight Witter, then Ricky is a hypocrite.

          Stop ducking Witter.

Hatton should never give this clown his payday. Hatton just made $40 mil and has only a few fights left. He doesn't need to take fights

And Witter can get old and fight six-rounders for money

witter has done nothing to merrit a big fight. he is a paper cham who got his belt in an eliminator. he never beat the champ for a belt. zab totally outclassed him, and he looked like a ***** in the fight refusing to engage thus losing 118-110. he is a talker, and does little to impress me. he does not deserve ****.

That's very generous of you Junior. What did you make for your last fight again?

                  KJ,

Are you applying that same logic for Floyd's future fights?

Junior is a massive clown, some of the stuff he comes out with defies logic. When a guy making six figures a fight tells a guy making eight figures a fight that he is willing to waive his champions' share he isn't being magnaminous, he's being ridiculous. If Witter was to take a 10% split he would still be making many times his best ever payday.
