    It's terrible.

These guys look like bloated buffoons. Not professional athletes.

I'll take the coked out HW's of the 80's over these bums any day of the week. At least these guys could fight and had skills.

Problem for the heavyweights is a lack of exciting fights. I think that the size of the heavyweights today means they can’t fight at the same pace as the 200lb heavyweights. Conditioning is another serious concern for some of the top guys. The future looks better though we have a few good young guys coming up.
solis and haye are now in the heavyweight division which will make things more interesting.

Proper self-analysis is one of the hardest thing for anybody to do...ever. In that same context, analyzing anything current compared to the past is virtually impossible to do. There are variables that have yet to be worked out and the future usually holds answers.

While the past is forgiving, the opposite can be said about the present.

No it isn't at least in 80s era there were skilled Heavyweights like, Witherspoon, Thomas, Page, Tucker. All the names i just mentioned would mop the floor with the current Heavyweights.

Hard to say, the era Tyson was in was pretty bad, with the exception of Tyson. The competition was WEAK. Wlad woulda beat Michael Spinks imo, just too big and strong.

Although one may argue that the fact there was ONE dominant guy crushin everyone(Tyson) made it a better division than it is today. Wlad has not dominated in the same way Tyson did, at least not yet. What about the Fifties, when Rocky was the HW king???

It might not be the worst but it's pretty bad. Like what was said, at least in the 80's they were more skilled & could fight 12 rounds.
