because the real boxing fans know margarito is not a bum. he was a huge welterweight with pressure fighting style power a good chin and he had not lost in 11 years. he was the most accomplished welterweight at the time and ring magazine had him ranked for years as #1 at welterweight and #2 behind mayweather when he came to welterweight.

Second, you are turning this into floyd vs margarito instead of should floyd have fought margarito? I can deal with people saying he bypassed him because he wasn't the best and didn't bring the most money.

Seriously though, it hadn't been long since the Santos loss for Margarito, and Baldomir was the legit champ (instead of just the #1) and brought the same $8 million for Mayweather that Margarito did.

Whatever, either way it doesn't matter... Williams killed the myth of the greatness of Margarito so...
