You have to throw a double-jab, in my humble opinion, against Mayweather. His timing would be off by something like that. He's not used to it. He's not used to people trying to outbox him, but people forget he's a great fighter. But not in the typical sense. He hardly uses a jab and rarely uses movement for an entire fight anymore. Cotto can double up on that jab and start switching from the double to the single jab mid-fight to confuse him, have him on his toes, mentally. Then start working behind a one-two. Body work would be essential in the early rounds. The jab would work to back him up, which Cotto would hope to do, anyway.

Easier said than done, but what isn't?

Cotto needs to mix his punches and FEINT. If Cotto FEINTS it could be a long night. True a jab opens up many options. I didn't say Floyd would counter it EVERYTIME it's thrown but he WILL counter it to the point Cotto will have to show respect to it. Floyd's adaptability is what makes me think he can't be beaten by anyone at 147 at this pint and time, except for Williams. Cotto's said it best "being the smarter fighter will win the fight." but can he outsmart lil Floyd.

I think Cotto has a decent chance, primarily because of his resume. His last two fights were verse a couple of the speedest/ quickest welters. Although this is mayweather. I do think it would be a fight that could possibly go either way. When Cotto faced Mosley he showed everyone he's a well-rounded fighter who can box, not just **** to the body. Close fight, I still think Williams would have a better chance of beating Mayweather, with Cotto in close second. Come On Money May, keep Fighting

In a nutshell, Miguel needs to outbox Floyd. He has to be able to mix it up with his punches and asses and re-asses every minute of the fight. He can't out box Floyd so he'll loose. I think he'll get ko'd quicker than Hatton did because he probably comes in with more force than hatton. Force that can be used against him. I never liked the idea of using pressure to beat floyd because he is just too quick.

I'd try to outbox him for as long as I can. I'll try the double jab like someone recco'd earlier.
