Mayweather: "Hatton Should Not Fight Again"

Just watched R3. How you score that to Mayweather?

I don't know man, Hatton took more than 2 rounds. Mayweather didn't call it a war for nothing. There's two sides in every war meaning two sides sustain damage.

I have no problem with someone scoring 3 rounds for Hatton, MAYBE, 4 (and believe me, that's really pushing it) . A couple rounds were close, which kept Hatton into the fight until round 6, where Mayweather adjusted, and just ran away with the fight, like all great champions do.

Mayweather was cool with a bit of a gap/space between the fighters and ok on the inside too in the later rounds.

Hatton closed the gap well but Cortez insisted upon opening it up again constantly, sometimes at the merest contact and thats when Hatton took most of the big shots.

I take nothing away from Mayweather. He might well have won a purely inside fight (or Hatton's fight), but we never got to see it to know conclusively.

On the scoring, a lot depends upon what you hold value. I don't value some of the pitter patter tbh and if Hatton doesn't flinch it doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I'm all about the 'fight', i.e.. which punches really counted/hurt or drew a reaction and who brings it.

You don't value pitty pat punches? Yet 99% of the punches Hatton landed were pitty pat punches scored on the inside.

Mayweather landed almost ALL of the hard, clean, effective punches in that fight. Almost ALL of them. Aside from that partially landed jab that "hurt" Mayweather...

And no, Hatton didn't close the gap. It was Mayweather, for the most part, who decided to hold his ground, and punch with Hatton on the inside, especially on the ropes.

How many did Billy Graham give him? and Ferocity?

Billy Graham gave Hatton 4 rounds (which is pretty level headed considering he's Hatton's TRAINER), Ferocity gave Hatton 5 rounds, and somehow, you astonishly had Hatton winning 6 of the 9 rounds prior to the KO. Which is absolutely ridiculous.

I seen Floyd nearly downed in the 1st, hurt in the second, and beaten across the ring over the ropes in the 6th.
