it couldn't have been.. oovavu I think it's another dude homie because Collins remained undefeated he wasn't stopped nor did he receive a loss, the fight was ruled a no contest and Collins remained undefeated, he took some SERIOUS hits but he remained undefeated because what was going to be a UD win for Resto actually got changed into a NC and erased from their records.. Collins died the next year after more than enough time to get over the fight, there would have been no reason to kill himself out of depression because he didn't lose, he remained undefeated.. 100Comment

he probably just got the ending mixed up regarding the stoppage/decision.it couldn't have been.. oovavu I think it's another dude homie because Collins remained undefeated he wasn't stopped nor did he receive a loss, the fight was ruled a no contest and Collins remained undefeated, he took some SERIOUS hits but he remained undefeated because what was going to be a UD win for Resto actually got changed into a NC and erased from their records.. collins= irish boxer who took a bad beating after opponent fought with tampered gloves. grew depressed afterwards and died in a car accident while drunk, considered to be possibly a suicide.Comment

sad fact was Gerald McClellan, said Benn would get seriously hurt and he no one should blame him when he ****s up Benn, did'nt happen that way, many boxers today owe there safety to past fighters like Watson, people like Spencer Oliver a real champ in the making could have went all the way, but was struck down with brain hemorrhage in a fight, as did Paul Ingle, they are alive today becasue of Watson.Comment

McClellan comes round in the ambulance and rips off the oxygen mask. Disorientated but briefly revived, he says to Johnson, 'What the **** happen? I got knocked clean out, didn't I?'
Johnson squeezes Gerald's hand and tells him what he does not want to hear: 'No, man. You didn't get knocked out. You went down to one knee and you walked back to the corner and you quit.' This is the cold professional boxing assessment. Technically, it is accurate. McClellan refuses to believe it. He turns to Donnie and says, 'Donnie, you tell this mother****er he lyin' to me, ain't he!' Donnie shakes his moonface from side to side and answers, 'No, G-Man, that's exactly what happen.'
In a little while, as the resident neurosurgeon Mr Sutcliffe and the staff at the Royal London Hospital begin preparing to save Gerald's life, Nigel Benn is wheeled into the cubicle next to him. He gets up, kisses Gerald's hand and says, 'Sorry.' Except Stan said later he never heard Nigel say that.Comment

I thought Paul Ingle died, I'll have to check that one out. But your right about safety measures being implemented after the watson fight. It was about time too.sad fact was Gerald McClellan, said Benn would get seriously hurt and he no one should blame him when he ****s up Benn, did'nt happen that way, many boxers today owe there safety to past fighters like Watson, people like Spencer Oliver a real champ in the making could have went all the way, but was struck down with brain hemorrhage in a fight, as did Paul Ingle, they are alive today becasue of Watson.Comment

Kaynan that is such a great story I never heard that. I really got quite emotional reading that. Thanks and I'll blame the emotion on the couple of rums I've had tonight.McClellan comes round in the ambulance and rips off the oxygen mask.
