I wouldn't call it whining. It will help establish rules/understanding for future fights.

We have to decide what should be allowed.

I'll have to personally read the rules to freshen up.

I wouldn't mind rougher fights, but to much grappling and holding and hitting gets annoying after a while. I want to see guns blazing like Gatti vs. Ward...free hands.

I understand the tactic, Ali used to do some things which I thought were illegal by the book, but he got away with it.

Every ref will have their own way about it.

I still like Smoger and Cappuccino.

Perhaps because I didn't actually do anything. I got no warnings, nothing. Just gave my view on the Mayweather fight like everyone else here.

And as for anyone questioning Cortez, nothing will happen because it was a Brit.
A referee is supposed to break up fighters.

To be fair, why not have a re-match in the UK, where Ricky can be allowed to use his tactics?

The outcome is still a far gone conclusion.

Ok here a simple question. If the ref did a perfect job (IF) who would have won between Mayweather and Hatton???

I don't even think Floyd would believe that.

Cortez doesn't interfere and the whole fight goes like R2. Man against boy.

First off, Cong**** to Mayweather for his impressive win. This was his best showing in 6yrs, that being against Diego Corrales.

As for the officiating, Cortez was out of line for stopping the action when Hatton moved in close to work inside. The first part of the fight was Hatton vs Mayweather and Cortez. Hatton moves in and Cortez follows and breaks them up. I believe in the third round, Hatton hits Mayweather and attempts to set more punches up, but guess who crashes the party and issues a warning .....Cortez.

Floyd used his elbows and forearm with impunity. There is an image from Sat. that still bothers me and it occured after the fight was over. It is Floyd putting his arm around Cortez and sharing a smile together.

Most likely Floyd. The thing is, in a huge ring, with heavyweight gloves, in a foreign country, against an opponent far more skillful, with a much longer reach (26 vs 20 in), taller, faster, craftier, advantages in every possible area, couldn't Ricky at least have gotten a fair shake from the ref?

Hatton doesn't deserve a rematch. His team shot down Tszyu before Kostya even said a word about his future and then when he beat Collazo in a close fight, who was the Champion going in, and almost took Hatton out, Ricky refused a rematch and went back down to 140.

Ricky "no rematch" Hatton doesn't deserve it. Like Tszyu said to Judah, boomerang *****.

Floyd was also the Champion going in so it is not warranted and people want him to fight Cotto and/or Williams.

With respect to Floyd, he came prepared for an inside fight. Cortez made sure he didn't have to. I seen them getting the photo taken but Cortez was real uncomfortable and took Floyd's arm off him.
