Don't get me wrong, I want Floyd to continue fighting, but I and most other sensible fans know that Cotto will not make or break his legacy as an ATG.
Who cares if I see it as Floyd ducking Cotto? What matters is what the boxing public and media sees. They will see Floyd as ducking Cotto, because the demand for that fight is already intense and will grow with every passing week. You think Steward and Merchant are loud now, wait until the pundits and The Ring Magazine join in. If Floyd sticks it in their eye, you will see genuine critcism arise and it will affect Floyd's legacy.

what baffles me is the people using money as an excuse
      seriously

what of that money do any of you see?

      seriously?

      these fans amaze me.
you have one group of fans[cotto] who want to see there favorite fighter reach for glory
and the other fans[floyd] complain about how there isn't enough money in a fight between them.
      it's pretty disgusting.

Its the same reason why millions of people will buy a DLH fight. They WANT to see it. It doesn't NEED to be made, but they'll push for it if there is a realistic chance it will happen. Same with RJJ and Tito. Their fight won't do anything for either of them in the grand scheme of things, yet people will watch. So of course people will criticize Floyd for not fighting cotto. Just like they criticized him for not fighting Frietas, Casmayor, Hatton and that bum Margarito. Not because he needs or even should fight them, but because its a fight they WANT to see.

Plus Cotto is an undefeated welterweight title holder. Don't you think Floyd unifying the belts would not only cement his legacy as an ATG, but possibly his claim as being the "greatest?" You cannot disagree with this. NOW THAT'S AN ACHEIVEMENT. Is it within Floyd's capabilities??

Wiley, please give it time before you use the word duck.

Certainly. I'm not saying Floyd is ducking right now. Obviously, I'm talking prospectively. In a few months if the fight is not made..............it won't just be me that will be saying it. Try on The Ring Magazine for size. There'll be a general outcry.

I'm hoping for negotiations to start soon though. Aren't you?

Whats the excuse after Mayweather puts it on Cotto?
I'm waiting for this. And it will happen again.

                  Mayweather by a WIDE margin.
                  Once again.

Judah and Baldomir were titleholders too and get completely **** on when Floyd's victories over them are mentioned. But of course Cotto is talked up in part because Floyd hasn't beat him. If Floyd did, Williams/Cintron/Margarito/"insert name here" would be the next guy that Floyd is "ducking". Its just a continual line of names.

                      He ran for his life.

                      The ref helped Floyd win.

Floyd is a *****. Hell I can go on all day.
