This should be named the best WW bout since Oscar vs Tito, which never lived to its expectations. Floyd vs Cotto should do a lot better. This is the kinda fight that would bring the best on both fighters, that's what boxing needs. Unfortunately, aftet the post fight interview, I get the feeling Oscar and Shane have a better chance of fighting Floyd next.

And as I said, beating Mosley (although some gave it to shane) was a nice win for Cotto, but it really isn't as impressive as people make it seem. Mosley is not the fighter he once was. But I do agree (and have said it for a while now) cotto would give Floyd a tougher fight than any other welter.
Yes, I do believe Cotto would push Floyd to ATG status. He is an undefeated champ and a true welter. But, even more importantly, the boxing public is/will demand that fight. If Floyd persists in failing to fight Cotto, there will be a perception that Floyd is ducking and it will be detrimental to his coveted ATG status. It's not me. It's about those who have influence...ie..Merchant, Steward, the pundits, and even The Ring Magazine. They will all chorus in. Mark my words. Floyd NEEDS to fight and beat Cotto.

I can already see it happening bro, remember, if it doesn't make dollars it doesn't make sense. Both fighters are a bigger draw than Cotto, we're talking Vegas now...

yeah but the media and the public WILL demand cotto-mayweather is the most logical fight for both of them for me beating hatton was good but beating cotto would be GREAT and if cotto beats pbf NEW YORK AND PR would go crazy.

Cotto v. Floyd WILL make big money with the marketing. For once, a fight is going to have to be made that is good for the sport....not for ODH's pockets. If ODH cares about the sport at all, he should be pushing Floyd v. Cotto to the hilt.

I hope you guys are right. That's all I can say. They deserve to fight each other and that's the fight fans wanna see. No favorites and logical choices on this one, should be a good one!

i think everyone under estimates cotto and if floyd does as well it will work to miguel's advantage.
cotto never appears to be what he is,floyd is floyd,so we'll see.

And if you believe that he's ducking Cotto, then shame on you. of course people are going to push for the fight. Nobody wants to see an undefeated fighter walk away from the sport. But if his desire to fight isn't there, then he should. Don't get me wrong, I want Floyd to continue fighting, but I and most other sensible fans know that Cotto will not make or break his legacy as an ATG.
