Joe is a boxing ref, not a wrestling ref. He did his job. Hatton had PLENTY of time on the inside to work if he wanted.

Judging by the tape of the fight, yeah, I do feel Joe Cortez did a ****ty job.

Cortez definatly had a negative effect on Hattons fighting. He burnt all of his energy up getting on the inside, and as soon as he is there, Cortez pushes him out again.

No holding involved, just Cortez interfering with the fight. Floyd still would have won any way to slice it, but had Cortez not interfered I firmly believe it would have gone the distance and been a competitive decision (well, atleast thats what it looked like, the judges didn't feel that way)

the ref was very very fair and ricky should be happy that 1. he only took 1 point and 2. that he eventually let ricky fight with wrestling.....this is a real ref here, not a dave parris!

Definatly, if you watch the fight again, watch Joe Cortez, he has his eyes firmly affixed to Ricky Hatton the whole fight. Mayweather could have been kicking Hatton in the nuts and Joe Cortez wouldn't have seen a thing.

Im still pissed off that the guy was in every camera shot. Even after the rounds were over, he magically appeared sticking his ugly ass head in front of the camera in the corner.
