that's not true. there were a lot of people (myself included) who said that castillo was damaged goods before the hatton fight. nobody is the same after those wars he fought. i think that his 64th pro fight.

i just re-watched the hatton-castillo fight as well, and i completely disagree with the thread starter. i saw a shot fight from the opening bell, up until the knockout, which was a beautiful shot by the way.

Nah, Castillo definitely was more competitive than yall give him credit for. Watch closely, and you will see his short shots landing and the look of concern in the corner of Hatton after round 3. Castillo was right there standing with Hatton either way, toughing it out. It was a gutsy performance, and if you watch closely, you will see he was landing his fair share of shots.

        .....k.

Last time I checked Hatton knocked him out a round later.

        One good round...doesn't....matter.

Plus, Castillo is a slow starter anyway. He started to come around in the third. Then his rib cage caved in.

Pretty much. People have let the idea of that KO blind them as if Castillo wasn't starting to heat up. That shot might have taken anyone in the division out. All I'm saying is, the effort by Castillo was damned good given all the factors.

Yeah so what if he was more impressive than Floyd beating a retired fighter (DLH) or a clubfighter (Baldomir).
well I picked Hatton by KO, i wasnt suprised to see the outcome.

Another part Castillo was shot on evidence is he could make the weight at 135. Those weight drain will catch you up later in the career like jappen to JLC. Another part is his wars with Corrales which effected him abit.

when you are damaged in the head and face sometimes you heal but not completely healed which could lead to some complication later in the career

I didnt see it as competitive. I thought it was clear from the get go, who the stronger and faster fighter was. Castillo looked overwhelmed. When Castillo landed a clean left hook Hatton walked through it and kept punching.

Temible did not look good, no. But he loses to a World Class fighter (maybe the best in the world come tommorow) and makes it competitive (Yes competitive. Hatton was cut and swollen. Castillo was finding his mark) and all of a sudden he is totally done? No way, Jose (no pun intended).

A year and a half prior to this fight JLC looked pretty damn good in stopping Corrales. Two fights in between, which he wins. I just don't see how he's "shot." Not 100%, sure. People just don't want to give Hatton any credit for the win.
