Rewatched Hatton-Castillo...thoughts

Hatton had alot to do with the way Castillo looked. Castillo is known for being a slow starter anyway. He was coming around in the third but he was clearly feeling the body attack. We all know what happened in the 4th.
The interesting thing about that fight is that Joe Cortez reffed that fight...and he let Hatton do his thing on the inside without interference. IF Cortez changes his style for tommorrow night's fight....then you will know the fix is in. Watch out for this. Personally, I think the fight will be fairly reffed though....Cortez will let them go at it IMO. (fingers crossed)
Actually, I JUST rewatched the fight and the announcers were actually complaining that Cortez was seperating them TOO much, while they were fighting.
Whether that's a good thing or not isn't my point. Point is, it wouldn't be changing his style. It'd be staying to it.Comment

I just saw the fight too and I didn't hear much said about Cortez' reffing at all. I thought it was a fair job of reffing. So, I will say it again....If Cortez changes his style tommorrow night...you will know the fix is in.Comment

It couldn't just be that the fight goes longer and that Cortez would have to "put up" with the holding for a longer period of time? It has to be that the FIX IS IN?Comment

It's not about "putting up with the holding." It's about letting them stay together on the inside and fight without constantly intervening to break them up (ie..Jay Nady). It's about letting them actually fight.Comment

I'mm all for that, if they're punching. If not, they SHOULD be seperated, or given a bit of a chance to fight out of it, or do some ACTUAL in-fighting. If it's just a hook and then hold thing with Hatton, if the fight wears on, he should be WARNED at the very least. Holding, excessively shouldn't be allowed. If you're ACTUALLY in-fighting, fine. Get hurt? Sure. But don't just make that your best combo.
1-2-hold. Nah, none of that.Comment
