How do you think Mayweather v. Hatton will play out?

Chavez wasn't as tough, resilient, busy and strong-punching as Ricky is, in fact, Ricky is superior in every way; Mayweather doesn't commit as much as he used to and Ricky is not as straightforward as Chavez was...I cannot see this ending before the last quarter; on the other hand, I think it's more likely to end with a stoppage on a cut than go 12 rounds.Last edited by Decebal; 12-05-2007, 06:46 PM.Comment

I see Hatton building up a four round lead in the early stages with Mayweather having a fightback in the middle rounds hoping to finish it in the closing third of the fight. Trouble is that the early body work that Hatton put in starts to take its toll and Mayweather is stunned to see that Hatton isn't backing down at all. Hatton steps on the gas from the eighth and takes four of the last five rounds to win a unanimous decision by a couple of rounds.
Or Floyd breaks his hand in the middle rounds and Hatton eats him alive.Comment

I think Mayweather is underrating Ricky and that's why he's going to be surprised. I think they could have ten rematches and Floyd would win them all, but this one is Hatton's.Comment

I think Mayweather wants Ricky to think that he is underrating him...he certainly isn't...it's all a game!

That's certainly not a possibility I've overlooked. He could well be playing mind games. But it isn't Floyd's style. He likes to intimidate or enrage fighters to destroy their confidence or their calmness. Not to give them false confidence. It;s not like Hatton is going to go "OK then I'll ease off on the training..."Comment

He will do both, he'll stand toe to toe with Hatton for the first 6 rounds of the fight and trade with him, then the last 6 rounds Hatton will be eating those straight right hands more than his beloved cheeseburgers.Comment
