  • J.C. Chavez Jr. -vs- Vanes Martirosyan ???

There has been some talk and this would be a great fight for both undefeated Jr. Middleweight prospects where one can possibly elevate to contender status...

may be a bit early but still just as interresting to see what you all think... it is very likely that this fight happens sometime in the future since both are promoted by Bob Arum's TOP RANK Promotions. (maybe late '08?)

Chavez Jr. just got a great victory and Vanes looks to keep his undefeated record goin on Dec. 20 in Las Vegas (LIVE on VERSUS TV)

i'll pick your boy Vanes if this fight happens. his opponents actually fight him back, unlike Chavez jr's opponents so Vanes is more battle tested.

Lol, Vince Phillips, the ultimate stepping stone.

How many people have used him for just that?

FYI: Vanesboxing, your boy looks a lot like a professional poker player named Antonio Esfandiari:

I hate chavez jr and his father..
If this fight happens.. i hope vanes ****s that kid up..
I dont see the chavez hype.. a GOOD and tough brawler.. he won most of his fights by out toughing his opponent... good boxing skills.. but to call him an all time great.. i just dont see it.. he was blown away by superior boxers..

People can talk all the **** they want about Chavez jr.'s opponents but if you look at it the fight with Rey Sanchez is by far a tougher fight than anyone Vanes has fought to this point. They are same age and chavez has less amatuer experience, so the quality of his opponents has moved up at a good rate.

With regards to the fight, Vanes has looked good but is not battle tested at all and hasn't had enough fights to this point. Chavez jr. is ready to step in there with Baldomir and Gomez in his next fight, while Vanes hasn't fought anyone that would remotely indicate him being ready, picking him would be basing it on performances versus very very limited opposition.

I think Vanes could keep Jr off him. I'm not sure because I haven't seen vanes fight someone like that. But for now I'll say Vanes by decision.
