Vanes has a better offense if you ask me, he hits just as hard and alot quicker.

He's also the most experienced out of the two, don't forget that Jr has never had an amateur fight and that Vanes was a polished amateur himself.

I'd pick Vanes in this one.

They are same age and chavez has less amatuer experience, so the quality of his opponents has moved up at a good rate.

With regards to the fight, Vanes has looked good but is not battle tested at all and hasn't had enough fights to this point. Chavez jr. is ready to step in there with Baldomir and Gomez in his next fight, while Vanes hasn't fought anyone that would remotely indicate him being ready, picking him would be basing it on performances versus very very limited opposition.
well, I'm not sure I agree, maybe you are kinda being decieved by Chavez Jr's 34-0 record.

in his first 16 fights, Chavez only fought 4 opponents with winning records... Vanes in his first 16 has now fought 12 opponents with winning records, not to mention he went 120-10 with over 80 stoppages as an amateur, a field where Jr. is 0-0

I think it would be a very even fight and Vanes would break Chavez down toward the later rounds and end it by KO/TKO

you gotta be kidding me man... Vanes would give that Margarito of yours a good fight today.. your gonna tell me Chavez Jr. will KO him??

you are really under-estimating Vanes man, this is a guy that beat Berto in the amateurs to make the US Olympic team, I'm pretty damn sure he can go toe to toe with a hyped up Jr. with a padded record and not much else.

Take one look at his name and you can completely disregard his opinion when it comes to Mexican fighters.

Ha its true now, he was quite the fighter back in the day but now hes just a shell of his former self. But it would look good on the resume for Vanes to help put his name out there

Not really, Chavez jr is very hittable and there is NO garuntee he can stand up to Vanes power, but at this point this fight would be worthless, id rather see it like 2 years from now.

that is funny to me... because we both should just as easily KNOW THAT VANES WILL KO CHAVEZ Jr.

in other words.. do some research and offer something more valuable instead of a foolish statement like that.

Chavez at this point. Vanes needs a handful of fights MORE, before he takes on Chavez. They're both young and the experience even at this stage, would affect them.
