This is exactly why the fight should be held in the UK, Calzaghe is the bigger attraction, moreso than Hopkins is in the states.

Why? People would fly over to see Calzaghe anyway and it would do even more numbers on PPV.

That's what I don't get, how would it exactly do more numbers on PPV?

If people want to see the fight on PPV, they will, regardless of where the fight is being taken place.

And 50,000 fans aren't going to fly over to see Calzaghe, I doubt it'd be held in a revenue with any more than 15,000 seats in the States anyway.

After all, Hopkins IS the "draw".

Kessler is better than Hopkins, that's all you need to hear.

I think Joe & Frank need to have their heads checked if they think they can dictate terms with Bernard, Roy or any other top flight American.
I keep telling you that British fighters are garbage and you won't listen.

Who cares about the gate revenue? he big bucks come from PPV buys. There's a reason why Bernard has still been consistenly put on PPV, and Calzaghe has never. People aren't dumb; they wouldn't continually put Bernard on PPV if he wasn't selling. You're putting too much emphasis on gate revenue.

These reports have conclusively proven that Hopkins gets more people to watch TV than does Calzaghe. LOWEST EVER... meaning that it was lower than any of the fights Hopkins had on HBO.

yeah I don't get why venue has any significance if the gate isn't important. The key point is Joe isn't going to get ****d in negotiations. If he's not a draw in the US, he is not a draw. There is not a **** lot he can do about it now anyway.
