Thank you very much mate...The guy obviously have no brain...I was asking this rhetorical question because of Arum saying paul Williams is a "nice guy out of the ring and everything but he wouldnt put him in there with Cotto at the moment".....And it got me thinking that what does having a good personality outside of the ring had to do with someone's talent in the ring?

being a nice guy helps in a way that has nothing to do with the individual but more on the side that he is more likely to get respect and help.

i mean hatton is a ncie guy and a lot of peopels see that and are willing to pay good money to see him. his fans are not rich at all and going to america is a lot to them. knowing that he ahs this much support must inspire him and put the needed pressure to win. also being a nice guy sometimes means your opponent does not want to kill you if you know what i mean.

for example nigel benn talked about hating eubank and willing to hurt him but michael watson was just a nice guy kinda thing.

that being said being a nasty man isnt gonna stop you from winnnig
either. look at tyson. he is nasty if anyoen disagrees.

People tend to bypass that aspect of a fighter. They say "his personality sucks so I hate him and think he is terrible in the ring, or he is a great guy so he deserves it more". At the end of the day it's your ability in the ring that tells how you are as a boxer. He also said something about an interview which I am still waiting for a response from him about it.

It's a pretty silly question, the only real difference is that when a good/nice guy loses, people tend to be kinder towards them, etc, than if an ******* bragger loses. That's a given though, really.

However, there are notable cases such as Nigel Benn where he is likable despite being violent/nasty and/or arrogant, simply because he has so much charisma. I would say Ali as well but I think a lot of people hated him back in the day (though more due to them being racists who couldn't take black men being ****y).

Gerard Wilson: Standing at six foot-one inch tall, southpaw WBO Welterweight boxing Champ, Paul “The Punisher” Williams has seemed to become the forgotten man in the highly talented welterweight division. I might be exaggerating a bit, but he seems to be conveniently forgotten like that “not so appealing” female that many of us have had at least once in our lives.

On July 14th of this year, Williams defeated Antonio Margarito for the WBO Welterweight boxing crown. For Margarito this fight was supposed to lead him into a fall (November to be exact) showdown with Puerto Rico’s Miguel Cotto. However, Paul Williams spoiled those plans with his ring generalship and high volume of punches. After the fight, Bob Arum (the promoter for both Margarito and Cotto) was quoted as saying to ringside press: “Williams is a nice kid outside of the ring but there is no way am putting him with Cotto”. From there, the wheels began to turn for a possible bout between Miguel Cotto and Sugar Shane Mosley.
