YES, Being the youngest Middleweight champ deserves a spot in the hall of fame, its a big accomplishment.

Youngest Jr Middle. And yes I agree this is why he should get a spot in the HOF.

I say yes, Fernando got his ass beat by his contemporarys, who just happened to be great. His fights with DLH and Tito are two of my all time favorites (rooted for him against Tito and against vs. DLH). He took some awesome beatings, I say yes out of compassion.haha

Nope. I don't think he beat the best of the best. Who were his notable wins...Wright and Quartey? IMO Wright beat him and Quartey was moving up in weight. Every other champion he faced either knocked him out or scored a UD.

Vargas gave us some good fights, but none worth inducting him in the HOF.

But beating Yori Boy Campas to become the youngest Jr. Middleweight champion is in no way shape or form enough to get u into the hall of fame

I dont know about that if it was so easy to do then why hasnt anyone bettered his record yet??? Fernando wasnt scared of any of the big names and when his name was called he was always willing in most occassions to answer the call!!! Even his last three fights he didnt need them but he is a warrior and took them anyway!!!

This is my opinion on it: Is he deserving? No. Will he get in? Probably, yes.

If Gatti gets in, then Vargas should get in. Not a knock on Gatti, who I liked; he isnt deserving, but might get in based on his FOTY's. And Vargas has a better resume than Gatti, imo.
