Pryor was a monsterous puncher, so was Duran.
Let's not compare him to those guys. Hatton is trying to keep the lil stength he has by staying at 140 as much as he can EVEN if it means risking his health by constantly losing 30lbs during training camp.
He tried out 147, he didn't like it against a perceived tune-up opponent in Collazo and runned back down to 147.
He has said he would only be willing to come back up to 147 for mayweather since he orignally started at 130.
HERE IT IS NOW. Let's see what he can do against a former super-feather. He has no excuses either at 147.Comment

No, Cotto won't fight in Vegas because it is economically unfeasible for him.
He is not a PPV draw, and he needs the Puerto Rican parade/crowd in NYC to help him get a nice gate.
Fighting in one of those 12K Vegas arenas won't generate enough $$ because he isn't getting a big site fee.Comment

Collazo had fought at light-middleweight in the past and I believe his next fight will be at that weight so it is reasonable to conclude that he thought that was his best weight at some point.I think the southpaw issue is the biggest factor. Very legitimate point there. As FJSMJ has also eaten shots from southpaws (Corley, Judah, and even Sharmba).
People are forgetful. They forget that prior to Baldo/DLH, Floyd threw alot more combos. But he was much more hesitant to let his hands go against the much bigger guys.
Additionally, I wouldn't call Collazo a big WW. Williams, Clottey, Margarito, Cintron, and even Cotto are bigger and stronger than Collazo. And hit harder. Collazo is probably a mid-pack or lower sized welter.Comment

Shane fought ALOT at JMW. He will tell you that his best weight is WW.
Even lil' Zab just fought at 154. I think guys just take decent fights where they find 'em.
But those guys I mentioned are who I consider the "big WW's". And they are bigger punchers.Comment

Collazo has only 13 ko's and got exposed by Mosley. That shows that Collazo didn't make a good showing for himself against Hatton but that Ricky didn't make a good showing at 147.
Collazo is a non-factor at 147. Clottey whipes his ass with him right now.Comment

I am mad at myself for reading that acronym all the way through knowing exactly what each letter meant.I think the southpaw issue is the biggest factor. Very legitimate point there. As FJSMJ has also eaten shots from southpaws (Corley, Judah, and even Sharmba).

If and when Hatton faces someone naturally stronger than him again then he would be mad to try the stunt he pulled against Collazo.Comment
