Typical European style he has no inside fighting at all that's why when Calzaghe swarmed him and got inside he panicked and didn't know what to do. Everybody he beat I think Taylor and Pavlik could beat. Imagine Pavlik in the ring with Beyer.
I think Kessler would beat everyone that Pavlik has beaten. Kessler and Pavlik have quite similar styles. Both prefer to fight at range and land one twos, both can throw big upercuts. Kessler IMO is a little faster and has better movement, he can fight on the back foot and counter, Pavlik just keeps coming staight at u.

As far as their respective records, i dont think there is much in it.

pavlik has more " bad intentions " on his punches though. i think pavlik would be stronger at 168 than he is at 160. kelly would wear kessler down over several rounds and maybe stop mikkel late.

kelly aint been to 12 i have heard. not sure if he can fight like he does for 12 rounds. kessler has a great jab soem reason he didnt sue it agaiosnt joe. then again joe has fast hands so maybe he was scared of counters.

pavlik lieks to **** and kessler is very smart to not **** if he doesnt want to. i also think that kessler has good power if he can land his shots. ko kessler because pavlik would be too tired in the later rounds and get caught. assuming they had a hard fight.

Kessler by stoppage, around the 8 round mark.

Kessler BY brutal KO, more imposing than Taylor, and punchers harder than Tyson. Calzaghe is the BEST. remember that YANKS

I'm not a Yank or a Brit, but I do have Calzaghe at #1 in my p4p rankings, he is the best fighter in the world IMO. I think Kessler would UD Pavlik.

funny, the one time a lot of you guys put Pavlik in the L column I actually pick him, I think Pavlik at heart is a Light Heavyweight, his frame, arm length and just overall struggle to make Middleweight shows that he isn't at his peak weight, even 168 is good and if anything 168 is where this fight would go down, I think Kessler would get KO'ed, Pavlik's heights and power would decide this one, I can see Kessler doing a lot of slick Boxing but eventually he will be caught in one of those instances where he tries to go punch for punch like he did with Joe and thats when Pavlik will drop him, if Joe kinda rocked him then Pavlik will KO him for sure, Joe punches in volumes, thats how he is able to KO his opponents due to his repetitive and slick punching but Pavlik has that dead arm, the arm that only requires 1 punch for good night..

I see this being a good hard fought fight and people WILL respect Kessler's heart but he will be too willing to engage with Pavlik, Kelly's defense when mounted and not throwing shots will be too much to deal with, he's only really vulnerable when he opens up for throwing shots but other than that his hands are always up and his jab is usually his punch he initiates with, Pavlik has a great jab, so great infact I think he can win a fight with that alone, maybe not Kessler but it CAN be done.. I respect Mikkel Kessler but I think Kelly Pavlik will be too big, too strong and basically even though he is one dimensional he will prove too much for Kessler, Mikkel is a big threat and CAN win, this is just MY opinion but I think Pavlik evens up with Kessler and may be a tad bigger with the weight properly put on.. 100

Edit: I didn't consider the fact that Kelly hasn't gone 12 more than a hand full of times, maybe not even that much, taking that into consideration I STILL pick him to win on TKO or basically any kind of stoppage but if it's a decision I think the guy who doesn't fade will win and judging by past fights I would say that is Kessler, a VERY big tounge bite I took there, I didn't consider the distance and how much effect it would have on Kelly.. 100

Pavlik was out on his feet in the 2nd round against taylor, i think kessler would eat him if he tried to fight as slack as he did in that fight

i think that Kessler would out point pavlik. Kessler has a good defence, never on the ropes, and a great boxer. thats the style to beat a power house like Pavlik. Taylor and Miranda stayed on the ropes, and they don't have great defence like Kessler. Pavlik would have his moments, but i think Kessler would win a close UD.

u can look at it 2 ways Taylor could'nt knock out Ouma a blown up Light Middleweight or Spinks for that matter, however he had Pavlik all over the place in their fight

but when i look back at the Taylor knock down i think Pavlik has a great chin Because those shots were flush on the point of the chin & when Pavlik came out for the 3rd round he looked as fresh as a daisy that is the mark of a good chin, how many times have we seen fights where a fighter gets knocked down & nearly out in the early rounds & never fully recovers to mount a serious challenge albeit they get to the 12 round ,

most notibly Gatti v Ward 2

Kessler is more like a light Heavyweight than SMW ,i don think he stops Pavlik cause his chin is to good IMO outpointed maybe
