I can accept a guy like Brock Lesnar, who is a freak of nature, a superb athlete and was one hell of an amateur wrestler. Kimbo is old enough that nobody knows his actually age, closer to 40 if you ask me, was beating up fat bouncers on youtube and had no kind of experience other than fighting street brawls with overmatched opponents.

And he said I'm biased, but has Kimbo photos in his profile and Kimbo > Klitschko user title - what a joke that is. Klitschko would eat Kimbo alive in less than a round.

If Kimbo tried to enter boxing, boxing fans would not only laugh but he would have been knocked out by the first fighter with any decent skill.
Kimbo can hardly be called a big name in MMA and he has not fought anyone in MMA with any skill. In fact, so far he has fought a former heavyweight boxing champion of the world and a nonentity with more losses than wins.

That's exactly my point. When I say big name, I mean in terms of popularity and the push that he's receiving in the sport, not skill level.

I think MMA is in the position that boxing was in the last few years, starving for new stars and that's why you see these guys like Kimbo and Lesnar and guys like that being pushed above "PROVEN" products within their respective companies.

UFC really needs for Lesnar to come through because most of the guys they tried to make stars in 2007 have gone bust, other than Rampage.

If there is a problem for UFC and MMA in general it is the frequency of title changes. The current pattern seems to be for a champion to dominate for a maximum of two years and then very quickly disappear off the radar. That makes it very difficult for the company to build up any interaction and familiarity with the fan and it seems to be the nature of MMA which means it will be a difficult problem to overcome.

To Each is own but I think MMA is boring for the most part......can't really get into it and the skill level of the fighters is nowhere near that of Boxing.

Boxing is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than MMA. MMA has noone like Mayweather,Hatton,Calzaghe,Pacman,Hopkins, and the list could go on.

I agree with that. I have no idea why poker is pumped so much on ESPN and even called a "sport" by some. It's a "game" of skill.

Yes, their boxing isn't near the skill levels of pro boxers. But boxers' skill levels in wrestling, judo and jujitsu is nowhere near that of MMA.
