Or what about Wayne McCullough, or Chris Byrd how did they manage to win with out pop in there punch.

Should we say, "he just don't have the pop in his punch to win the judges over." When ever McCullough or Chris Byrd lost?

The good the great fight and win with what they have and not what they don't.

That's pretty bad since none of those bouts were really controversial. Especially Guzman's and Taylors. Cotto and Mosley was close, but not controversal.

Its really wierd this fight.

I remember watching PRE-FIGHT hype for VARGAS-QUARTEY, and a major point for QUARTEY winning was that VARGAS and struggled immessley to beat, and i quote, "The unheralded journeryman, Ronald Winky Wright."

And this was HBO hype. Wright shut them up though, with a Hall of Fame professional Career

Nope... I'd say either Trinidad or Mosley singularly are better wins that Vargas had for his career.

Whom both KOed Vargas...Mosley twice...but that was late in Vargas career right....? Wink is still 9 years older no matter how you cut it..Winky has far more of a legacy....see what I mean wit the longevitiy thing.

It was a close fight and Vargas pushed himself more then Winky did in there fight so of course Vargas won. Not everybody is going to aggree with the judges.

I didn't say I thought the Vargas fight was controversial, but I have heard it called that before.

I don't know where you get this close losses > wins from my post. Hell, we are talking about Fernando Vargas right? The dude that has lost a hell of a lot more than Wright.

I don't know how you call Winky's legend making a name off of Trinidad, when Vargas made it for himself. Vargas made a name because his power KO'd a bunch of piece of **** fighters in his early bouts, but he never beat the elites. Winky didn't have the KO power, but he beat the elites. Which one would you take on a fantasy team?

And you end up giving the fight to Vargas because he pushed himself harder. Hmm... Tarver pushed himself harder than Jones in their first fight... did you score that for Tarver, because Jones clearly won 7 rounds... I thought Winky won 7 rounds, maybe not as clearly as Jones, but I didn't think that Vargas was landing more than Wright by any means.

I saw it...I also remember him finishing the fight and coming out with a loss he deserved but the crads were like in the 116-112 range and if you suibtract the Kds he suffered Winky did very well most of that fight.And could have won it had he been more of a puncher like I've stated in this thread previously.

He has, trust me... Hyperion is the biggest Winky Wright fan on this board I think, even though he likes Morales more... he is very passionate about the guys he likes.

He was one of the first to explain to me what the Harry Simon fight looked like. I think he called Julie Lederman an ugly **** too. Real funny ****.
